Hi everyone, It's been a couple of weeks since I checked in to say hello. I hope you all are doing well.

I had my tubes tied a couple of weeks ago and it went well, Other than the UTI I got last week which I believe is a result of the catheter during surgery. My guess is that normally I probably wouldn't have gotten one, but being on MTX made me more at risk for infection.
Last Wednesday we lost my 7yr old pug, named Colby. It all happened so fast. He seemed fine on Tuesday (greeted my friend at the door, jumping up to say hello). Tuesday night he didnt' want to go outside, because I woke him up. But he did, and seemed okay.
Well, Wednesday morning, he was a bit lethargic. I went to work and my son called me when he got home a few hours later to tell me the dog couldn't walk well. We brought him to the vet, and they sent us to the huge 24 hour emergency vet, about 45 min away.
We had to make the decision to put him down. It was very difficult and we are all devestated. Including my other Pug. These dogs were "soul mates" and she is lost without him.
My joints are giving me a bit of a hard time as well. Hands are painful and stiff...and my right big toe. I really had my hopes up that the MTX and Plaq mix would do the trick. The thing is, my levels aren't extremely high. I just don't get it.
I need to get away, so next week I'm going with my stepmom to NH for a long weekend. I'm looking forward to getting away. I think I need it.
I hope everyone is well.
Oh I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog.  There is little I can say.  I lost my two senior schnauzers earlier this year and know how hard that is.  You made the right decision and your pug is free to be a carefree dog again.   Hang in there and I am glad to hear your surgery went fine.  Enjoy your trip to NH, the wetaher has been fantastic this fall...Hiking_galAww, Deb, I'm so sorry.  Your pug seemed so young.  Do they know why it happened?  It sounds like a get a way is just what you need.  Hugggs,  Lori Sorry to hear about your dog, Deb. I hope next week will be very relaxing for you....have a good time!I'm so so  sorry, Deb.Hi Deb, I'm very sorry about your dog.  They are truly members of your family and it's hard when they're not there everyday.  Take care and relax on your trip,  LindyI'm sorry about your doggie!!!

I hope getting away is just what you need!!
Sorry to hear of your loss ...........

I know just how you feel with your other dog pining.  Although our little one is only 15 mths (and we got her for him because his soul mate left) they have bonded really closely and cry when they are apart from each other.  Because Bruce is coming up 11 and for a big dog is about 4 yrs passed his used by date, and beginning to feel his age, the vet says we will probably lose him by next winter, so we are getting a puppy just before Xmas - I am hoping that Gypsy will bond with the new puppy as well so she won't be alone when Bruce goes.

I do hope some time away will allow you to heal.

Thanks everyone. I haven't had a chance to respond because we picked up a new puppy on Friday. She is a pugzu, half pug, half shih tzu. she is adorable and it is helping my other pug (and the rest of us). They love to play, but the puppy doesn't last long before needing a nap.
I'm sorry for your loss too, new puppies can take the sting out of any loss. It's hard to be sad watching puppies cute antics. Have a wonderful (and safe) trip.
