Hi guys, I'm about to try to start Enbrel. How can anyone afford the price????  It's going to cost me at the very least 8.00 a month when I'm not in the donut hole, which at the moment, I'm in and will have to pay full price of 00.00. I'm trying to get help form several foundations, but no luck so far. HELP!!!!!
Jeanie.
Hi, Everyone.  I am new to this forum, but have been reading for awhile.  Diagnosed with RA in Feb. '08.  Previously diagnosed with Mixed Conn.Tissue Disorder and on Plaquenil, since 3/05.
I just started Enbrel this week, b/c other meds only worked for a few days then flares returned with a vengeance.
About the cost of Enbrel, unbelievable.  My RD helped me to enroll in a program for first time users only.  It is sponsored by the pharmaceutical company, and is a great financial help for the first year.  I have already received my first month's supply from the company for free.  Talk to your RD to see if this is available in your area. My RD gave me information to enroll in the Quick Assist program as well.  You have to sign up for it before you get your prescription filled.  I've been taking Enbrel since last December and to date, I haven't had to pay anything for it.  Not even a copay.  That will change after December.  I think after the first year, you can still get assistance if you have financial need.Hello, I'm on enbrel.  I, too, called my doc and said my copay is 0 and I canNOT fill it.  The nurse asked me to come in and pick up this Enbrel QuickAssist card.  I had to register by phone. Then present the card along w/ the script to the pharmacy.  The makers of Enbrel pay up to 5 a month of your copay for 6 months.  After that you pay up to out of pocket.  After one year, you are able to reenroll.

So I paid a month for 2 or 3 months.  Then I was forced to get it by mail-order, it went down to a month.  Then we switched to military insurance and I pay for 2 months worth.
Now the quick assist program does not participate if you are on Medicaid, Medicare, or on military ins.  Just so you know...
let me know if you have any questions.

Hello~  My name is Dawn.  I have Still's Disease.  I read your post. Are you still looking for help?

I have been using Enbrel for the past four years.  Enbrel has helped me with my RA symptoms.  I use two 25mg injections per week.
What are you in need of Enbrel for?  Have you ever used Enbrel before?
Which state do you live?

The Quick Assist program is great. I haven't payed anything out of pocket yet and have been on for three months, with the first month free.Hi. My name is Scott. I'm 39 (almost 40) and i've had Ankylosing Spondylitis since I was 17. I've been taking Enbrel for about 5 years - It's a life saver for me. Anyway, about 3 months ago I got sick with bronchitis, and i stopped taking my Enbrel (50ml shots), so I have 3 months of surplus (3 boxes x 4 shots = 12 shots) in my fridge.  I'd be willing to part with some or all of that surplus, but could use some help in the form of $$ to make this a good Christmas for my 2 kids. Let me know if anyone has an interest in 3 months supply of Enbrel. I can package in a stryrefoam cooler with some ice and ship via FedEx to you. -Scott (gr839@cox.net)if your looking for enbrel i can help email me at naphobia@comcast.net. seriously not a scam

No, Quick Assist will not help patients on Medicare.  I wish I understood the reasoning for that because Medicare certainly doesn' help with Embrel.
