Here's a list of symptoms and clues I just gave to my doctor to assist him in diagnosing my pain.

Please let me know if anything here looks familiar. I don't have a diagnosis correcting the cause of my pain yet.

People on the thyroid forum are suggsting that it's my low T3, but my internist and endo. say no.

Ache in calves and forearms --- started ~ 2004.

Initially,  began midday,  and lasted till bedtime.

Now, it's 24/7 --- often wake up at 0100-0500 in pain.
Symmetric left/right, calves/forearms

Often forearms' pain location is mirror image of calves'.

Relief by elevating legs or arms above heart.

Relief by squeezing calves or forearms.

Worse when taking Celebrex / Voltaren (back pain).

Worse with certain diets: salty, acidic, red meat.

Not affected by wearing support socks.
No redness, tenderness, or swelling.
No joint pain or stiffness.
No numbness, or electrical sensations.
No sensitivities other than mentioned above.

Hi Ted,

I'm sorry you are having so much pain.  I can't really help but I just wanted to say that most everybody views the posts in the rheumatoid arthritis forum.  You might have better luck if you post your question there.  There are a lot of people here and it is very possible someone will be able to offer some advice.

Best of luck to you,

Pam
The same thing is happening to me.  Cramps from my palms thru my forearms, and feet thru ankles. When I first started getting sick last fall I had pain in my calves constantly and my shins literally felt like someone hit me right below the kneecaps. They feel a lot better now with a gluten free diet and pred. I'm not sure which one to give credit to but my knee and calf pain is pretty much gone!66ronbn562011-03-09 19:58:35
