My GP forced me to get one. I tried to get out of it saying I can't I'm on MTX. She looked it up and it's like Babs said- the nasal vaccine is live and a no no. The shot is killed and OK.

I hate shots. It wasn't awful but it hurt and my arm was sore all day and the next. Then I read on some website that you can still get the flu after the shot and that if you do it only makes the duration 4 hrs shorter then it would have been.

I never got them any other years and never got the flu either. GP says sounds like it's your turn- get the shot!

AchingAudrey2008-11-30 21:54:57You know what's been bugging me is that my 4 year old got his shots recently, and they are going to do MMR next year since its a live-virus vaccine, but they still did Flu Mist.  Doc said he'd never heard of issues with immuno-suppressed person getting the flu from someone else's flu mist shot, but I wonder.  I've been sick but haven't had high fevers.

I'm getting my shot on Wed, if I feel better.  I've only gotten the flu twice, but I can't afford to miss a week of work, so will do whatever I can...

IDK about the flu mist shot... but I remember (eons and eons ago) when I had children getting the live polio and we were told to keep them from pregnant women....  does that make sense?  it is a vague memory.

My dr insisted I get the flu shot. I got mine last week. My arm was sore a few days but it's better now. I didn't get one last year and got a bad case of the flu! I went to get it but they ran out and I said to give my mom the last one.
SOOO, peoples get that shot!!
I get the flu shot yearly.  I don't know if it's related but four days after my shot, I had a flair up in the  shoulder I got the injection in.  Did anyone else experience that???
