My husband has just had  his worst ever atttack of gout.  He has a coupleof episodes before but nothing like this.  As well as NSAID the doctor gave him a sheet with foods to avoid.  However a brief trawl through various websites shows very different ides about what are purine rich foods (a term I had never come across before today)

I realize that our diet which is rich in pulses and fish especially oily fish is not helpful, neither is his intake of British real ale, but I can't find out if white fish is bad.  Some lists include poultry some don't  Can anyone out there help me please

You can find gout diet info in paragraphs 2.3 and 3.18 of http://www.ICuredMyGout.org .  Good luck.
