What was it before RA?

Do you take meds for your BP?

My last year I've had high BP.. but no one has medicated me....  yet.

Previous to getting the flares of last summer, my BP was always 110/70.....

I'm curious about all of you.. is there a connection.... is it meds?  what?

THANKS>>
History-
pre-HBP- 90/60

Onset of HBP  180/100

For a long time on Toprol XL alone- 130/85

Added hyrdrochlorothiazide- 120/80

Got RA

Taking MTX, Prednisone, Folic Acid

Consistently 105/70

I think it might have something to do with not having a nightly cocktail anymore.
What is your BP?  On bp meds it hovers 120/80 range.

Mine is always low.  Freaks the nurses out during my Orencia infusion every time.  I am usually 90/60 but it drops a little bit during infusions.

What's your BP?   110 /75

Was it always high?  Nope, always on the low side.

What was it before RA?  Same as above

Do you tale meds for your BP?    No.....

Lynn492008-10-29 05:38:50mine was 90/60 the last visit.  the nurse said are you tired?  I'm like yeah, but I'm not sleeping!!!  It"s always pretty low, I don't know why. Mine is always quite low - around 100/60 (110/70 if I'm stressed out).  Always been that way.  The metoprolol I take is for a wacky arrhythmia, but luckily it only brought my BP down a couple extra points. JasmineRain2008-10-29 06:14:57120/70-ish

It was never high until I came down with this then it sky rocketed around diagnosis.

140 to 150/ 80 to 90 (think 93 was the worst)

No traditional meds for BP

AP and some supps - see signature line.

I think inflammation would effect BP and would be a sign that the blood vessels are effected.  Never studied it because the problem went away by Xmas 06

My RD has been making comments about my BP....  I smoked at the time...  and he blamed that.
I thought possibly white coat disease???
Pain?    Overweight?

All these things are contributing factors..   Yes?

at PCP's office, It is not usually as high as at RDs... (120/80 at PCP..  138/90 at RD)  Could be the cuff?   (no where near my usual 100/70 or 110/70)

I just DO NOT WANT more meds....

I quit smoking.. I am making a concerted effort to exercise and lose some of this tonnage I've gained since summer 07....

Yes, it can be the cuff.  No idea why.
Funny- My BP is always highest at the office that treats it. RD and GYN always the same.that would make sense, wantto.....  that's on your mind when you see that dr.My BP is right on target but if it varies it goes a bit low.  Never out of a healthy range though. What is your BP?  110/70...sometimes lower

Was it always high?  my HBP started 15 years ago, with my Gyn recommending my PCP do something because it was slightly elevated and my PCP saying it wasn't high (insisting I was having a psychological reaction to my father's bypass surgery) , but when it hit 180/110 during an emergency room visit for painful gallstones and they couldn't perform surgery as a result, my PCP finally put me on meds

What was it before RA? long before RA

Do you take meds for your BP? I've taken several over the years, but for the last long stretch I've been taking Avalide, which is a combo of Avapro (irbesartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist) and hydrochlorothiazide (diuretic)

I have always thought the meds or RA are causing the hight BP, cant see how it can go from below normal to off the charts all of the sudden.  Doesnt make sense.  Dr's dont have a reply when I ask.

Hope this helps
Mine was fine before ra. Now it's controlled with medicine. See signature line for meds. I think bp is a finicky thing. When I am in pain, it's higher and when I'm stressed, it really high. I am trying to take some  weight off to see if that helps ra and bp. Just blew it with the glazed donut holes.
Always tomorrow.
