bad blood work | Arthritis Information

Oh crap. I got a voice mail on my cell phone while I was grocery shopping that I need to call my GP and schedule an appt. to discuss my recent blood tests. Also they have faxed a copy to my RD.

First of all I aked that I get a faxed copy as well and they didn't do that.  When I have blood done at the lab they always do it with no problem. Now since the office was closed all I can do is sit here guessing what might be wrong.

I really don't know what blood tests my GP did but I figure the usual physical type tests, diabetes, cholesteral, CBC. I know she tested my B12, Vitamin D and Thyroid.

They drew blood as a favor to my RD. My usual MTX monitoring, inflammation markers and he also re did my ANA, Anti CCP and RF.

I would think it's her own results she wants to discuss...

I hope I can get an appt. on my lunch hour tomorrow.  I hate being in the dark.
Now you have me curious.  I would think that since itwas your GP wanting to make the appt that it is something she tested for, but I worry about the whole mtx thing...let  us know.  LaMaybe its good news, you never know.  Keep us informed and good luck.jsnm- have you ever had to make an appointment to get good news? Please don't think I'm taking a tone (email is difficult to interpret)- I'm just hopeful  because I never have...

La- you know just where my mind was heading didn't you!
Waiting is difficult, but try to get a good nights sleep.  Sometimes, I wonder if doctors don't realize how a message can cause anxiety when you can't get in until the next day.   Let us know what you find out.

Cathy
Since I"ve been on MTX, Arava & Remicade for the past couple of years, I've had 4 bad bloodwork notices. They don't have to be dire. My liver count was off one month, so I had to quit taking the Arava & MTX for a month. One month they sent me something weird to drink. One month, they told me to eat a banana a day. The tests really are important - they're designed to keep your whole system in balance.

I hope your problem is also something fairly trivial.
I agree with snow owl, as you requested them then maybe they are going to be extra thorough and let you know personally by your Dr.  Try not to worry too much, usually they can sort out our irregular bloods by tweaking something and as you have regular blood tests done then I don't think it could be too nasty without some previous indicators.  Best of luck, try not to worry too much, regards Janie.  Actually I told them I wanted a copy because I keep a health file. They could have forgotten I guess.

I'll just call this morning and hopefully get in on my lunch hr. My choleseteral is usually high so maybe they finally want to do something about that. I just hope I'm not diabetic. It runs in my family and I have been complaining a lot about fatigue....
WTBRF - in no way was I trying to diminish your concern or try to make fun of your situation.  Perhaps someone wants to have face-to-face time with you to go over everything and come up with a good, solid plan, not that something horrible is wrong.  I think RA patients are not given good solid, comprehensive appointments.  At least once a year you should be able to go over everything and make sure you are doing everything right, or make changes based on tests.  I am sorry if you interpreted my comment this way, and wish you the best of news at your appointment.  Oh, WTBRAF,

That doesn't sound good at all.  My GP NEVER calls me unless something is wrong.  I hope it's nothing too bad.
Will be thinking about you today.  Keep us posted and try to stay positive (if possible).Keep us posted on what they say!

hugs
Do research on the internet, you just come in here expecting everyone else to help you.  I'm sure you get hand outs all the time, well no more from me.

I have an appointment at 2:30- I'll let you know how I make out.

JSNM- no I did not take your post the wrong way- I honestly thought you may have experienced a time when you went in but the news was not bad. That's why I put my little disclaimer...I didn't want you to think I was being flip.

As to the lorster imposter- not only are you just plain mean and mean people suck-but your comment is absolutely stupid. I never treat people with disrespect here and I don't expect to be treated with disrespect either.

Shame on you and this forum!

AchingAudrey2008-11-30 12:13:53I feel for you having to wait for your results. Like you, I try to be Pro-Active getting results sent to me. Hang in there. I hope it all works out. Be sure to let us all know what the doc says. I am curious for you!!!
