Does chronic inflammation make you stupid? Or how about decrease brain cells?

Absolutely! It's called........uh, forgot!
Heheheeheee!!

I was just wondering because for some reason, now that my inflammation is down, I am not as "brain dead". I kinda feel a little smarter

I just wonder if it does kill off brain cells does it cause permanant damage? Enquiring minds want to know.

Oh, and since my brain's not working

What if you do not have visible inflammation and are still "brain dead"... does it mean it is the inflammation causing you that problem?

Inflammation is kinda puzzeling.

Oh and thank for the congrats! Here you go:

kweenb2008-10-30 10:02:51I know there's Fibro Fog. Of course it could a Senior Moment. Or I could blame it on Chemo Brain.
Now I just need a three-sided coin. OK, my poor brain can barely read this abstract, but note the words "after recovery" which makes me think it is not a permanent condition...

Kweenb - I am aware of the affect pain has on the brain. For me it makes me feel like I am going crazy and wears me out mentally. I just wondered how much of it was caused by the chronic inflammation I was having. My mind feels a little clearer, well my thinking process does anyways. I still have days were I just feel to tired to think or try not to think at all. I guess that is why I have not been on the board that much, because it was too much work to think.

I have noticed that I do seem to spell a little better and my sentances are much better in grammar and all. I have less typos, too. I had typos before because my brain wanted that letter there.

innerglow- thanks for the research abstract. I am going to have to look up some of those words to understand it a little better. But if what you are is right, then does that mean the inflammation does not kill off brain cells and it is our meds that we take that might be helping to "cripple" our brain cells.
