Arthritis Information -pink eye RA

Share

Hi i am a newbie on here, and i have had red-pink eye for at least 5 months now, it was in one eye for 3 months then the other its still there, steroids didn't really work after they told me it was viral it would go away, 5 months later still looking like a crack head, who has been punched in the eye. Had a blood test witch showed mild RA. I do wonder if there is a link with my injections to shrink my fibroid??

it has killed of my social life, and i have lost work due to this! but i will look on the bright side i am due to start tablets called sulfasazine which i hope work. Also i have to look at this in a fun way well....at least my eyes compliment my red lipstick!
any advice anyone?, i know i am not suffering alone, i am 30 years old.
hi,

you might wanna consider reposting this on the RA forum, more people visit that site and you might have more responses.

your post caught my "eye" cuz my eye had gotten very red, and painful, the first doc misdiagnosed it, thinking my eye was just irritated cuz i have sjogrens syndrone, but it got worse and i went to another doc who diagnosed scleritis.  it has responded to the steroid drops.

i've since learned one can develop autoimmune conditions of the eye like scleritis and uveitis.  i think methotrexate might be used to treat them if they are reoccuring, tho i already take methotrexate.  i think its very important to see a good opthalmalogist, who is familiar w/RA patients.

my eye doc told me when a patient comes in with an eye condition like this they also do labwork for RA and sometimes learn the patient has RA, tho for me, i'd had RA for 30 yrs already.

so be sure to see the best eye doc, i've discontinued seeing my former eye doc and now see someone w/a teaching hospital.

good luck,  i know what you're going through -- my eye was scary red.  take care.
