Lately I have been having extremely itchy skin and rashes. My hands also have been dry (not cracked or peeling, but feel stiff and rough. I just keep applying lotion, but the other skin is not dry, it is still soft but there are little red bumps that itch, they appeared before I started Prednisone, and went away while I was on it. They came back when I tapered to 5 mg Pred. They will also disappear with Benedryl cream. They are not like hives as they are small and all the same size and perfectly round, almost like goosebumps.
I have not been into anything different as far as soap, cleaners, laundy detergent, etc. It appears mostly on my legs, and stomach, have had it on my arms a couple of times. After awhile it goes away but will pop back up at a moments notice. Called the Dr and he said sue benedryl Cream, but it only works for a little while and they pop up again.
Any ideas? Should I be worried or go to the Dr? My next appointment is not until December 19th.
It sounds like you are having some kind of allergic reaction which the pred is suppressing. You should call a Dr.
