How does MTX behave in your body? (Article) | Arthritis Information

I thought this article would be interesting to post because while no one understands exactly how MTX works it does go into detail about some things that are known about MTX. Well worth the read for those who se the drug:

But that does make me want to be a bit more patient. Have been on pills since March, injections since August. What is 24 weeks--5-6 months? I guess I should theoretically give it until the new year. We shall see...

If you take the MTX orally with food every week does that effect on how long it takes it to work, would it be worth it to try it on an empty stomach to get its full effects?

Bonnie, never ever take MTX on an empty stomach. Never. It will not rush the effects and will not only destroy your stomach but increase the odds of side effects.

Katie, maybe its time to add another medication to it. It is probably working, it might not be enough. Hope it starts working for you,
