OT: My Mommy | Arthritis Information
My mommy had yet another surgery yesterday, Wednsday. She was to have it Tuesday, but when they checked her potassium it was too low, so they had her stay over night and work her in on Wednsday.
I was wondering why no one called me, Wednsday to tell me how mom done, and then just figured they forgot about me as usual. But it was because they did not do the surgery, so there was no need to update me.
I went to the hospital Wednsday, I had hubby stay home from work so he could take me up there. I got up there and she was walking around and I was thinking "MAN! She is doing good for just having surgery again!" She noticed me and was all happy to see me. I looked at her and I said "You are doing good." She said I have not had my surgery yet, they are working me in today since my potassium was low yesterday.
My mom has been getting these puss filled sacks where her incision is from having open heart surgery in July. She had one that was bigger than a golf ball, which was the last one before this small one popped up. Her Dr lanced the big one in his office and it went down and all. He told my mom he did not want to do this one in his office because she bled a little more than he liked for the one he lanced in his office, so he wanted to do it in the hospital and to see why she keeps getting them, because they want to get her off the antibiotics.
My sister called me yesterday, Wednsday, and told me mom done good and was resting. Then she said the doctor said it was probably 2 of her wires that were sticking out of her tissue and rubbing that was causing the puss filled sacks. So they filed them down. They did not do to much exploring, because her tissue was healed and they did not want to mess that up since she has been having such a hard time. So they are just hoping it is the 2 pieces of the wires they filed down that were sticking out of her tissue that is causing her problem. So we will see!
Oh Joonie...sorry to hear she is in hospital again...I hope that this time they get iot all sorted out for herHI Joonie, I really hope that your mum improves now, I will keep you and her in my prayers, God Bless. How is your weather there, here in Hervey Bay Queensland, Australia, we are having beautiful hot weather, they said on the news tonight to keep the air conditioner on tonight if you own one, and its only spring! I have the fans on and all the windows and doors open. We are so lucky, regards Janie.
Joonie - sorry your Mom is having post-surgery complications, as I thought she had been doing so well. It's good its only wires or something, and not anything re the purpose of the surgery itself. She will be home soon, and perking up. I am amazed at how well heart surgical patients recover these days. Hey Joonie- sorry to hear your mom had more post surgery problems. Hope she heals up and is feeling better soon!

Yeah... she was having her good days and bad days, but she seemed to be having more bad than good.
I am hoping soon, she will be feeling better and doing much better, so that I can start going and getting her thru the week and we go galavanting about until hubby gets off work. She said it will probably be some time next year before she will feel like doing that, but she was getting the itch to go places a month back... LOL!

Thank you, miles to go. Joonie, I hope the two wires turn out to be the cause and she bounces back, especially with the holidays coming up. Do you have room for her to stay with you while she recovers? It would be nice for the both of you not to have to depend on others to give you guys rides to see each other. Just a thought...
