Ok stiff neck is not uncommon for me due to RA/OA. I went to dr yesterday as hubby thought i pulled a muscle in my neck, extreme pain, headaches and it felt like something torn on left side of neck. dr also thought muscle strain and gave me pain pills and muscle relaxers and have appt with neck dr to ck state of bulging disc.
This morning woke up in worse pain and now arms have muscle weakness.
Hubby said i have tiny blisters or lesions running down my neck...tell me it isnt so, could it be menegitis????

mabus, you need to go to the doctor immediately, you could have meningitis and shingles. please go.After three dr visits it was found i had
pulled (feels like ripped ) some muscles in neck and left shoulder and had an explosion of you guessed it SHINGLES in same area of injured muscle
I guess the injury triggered the shingles and boy are they bad...never had this before
ps good news is bulging disc not as bad from mri done 4 yrs ago, dr thought that was pretty amazing but i won't feel joyful till i get this shingle mess under control, Any suggestions???I have no experience with shingles but sure hope you get well soon!
