Hip replacement because of Osteo | Arthritis Information

Hi ,

I am new here and I hope none of you mind me whining a little. I have both Crippling RA and Osteo. Today I found out I will be needing a hip replacement because the of the Osteo.
I am not really to worried about it ,more fed up with having to go through so much.
I have already had both of my knee's replaced and both rotar cups and dealing with the RA and degenerative disk disease in my neck.
Sometimes with arthritis you think, is it ever going to be ok or will I make it through this battle.

Anyone else out there with a lot of surgery behind them?
Why don't you post this on the Rheumatoid forum -- you'll find a lot there with multiple surgeries.

I'm putting off having both knees done until i can no longer get in and out of the bathtub -- no matter how painful. Those hot baths with this back seem essential.

I have had JRA for 23 years and I had to have both of my hips replaced at the age of 29 because of it.  I'll probably need knee replacements at some point too but no time soon.  Nobody here will ever criticize you for needing to whine a little we all deserve to from time to time.

Good luck with your hip replacements

Sorry you are going through yet another surgery. My husband went through the hip surgery. Ge was golfging 9 weeks later! If it helps they say the hip replacemnet is the easier recovery than the knees and definately the shoulders. Wishing you the best.
