OT/ computer question | Arthritis Information

 

I am hoping that someone can help me with a computer problem.

Hmmm...that makes no sense to me. If the system is fast everywhere but here, it just may be an issue with this site, and not your computer.

I have never had a problem with this site being slower than any others I go to.
Not much help, but at least I answered!!!  :)

Do you automatically sign on when you come here? Or do you manually? Maybe it is in your security settings? If you manually sign in try clicking the box that will automatically sign you in or vice versa.....Haven’t got a clue if it will help...but I have stumbled around and solved problems with my pc before...Good luck

If you don't have it included in your virus software package you can download Spybot Search and Destroy for free. Google it. I run it through every week.

It is odd that it is only the forum. Many more sites than here have to process even more information. This board is pretty basic as software goes.

Cordelia, Thanks for your response on my computer issue.

I do have a spyware , avast , my neighbor put it in for me while

he was helping me with another problem. It atomatically cleans

the system when needed.

Last night I did the defragging and it seemed to help some.

My computer is set to defrag once a week but it took quite some

time when I did it . Maybe it was not working so I reset the time

to see if that helps.

Before I did the defrag and I was on the forum reading and the screen

started to flash and the pointer was bouncing all over the place.

It was just crazy!

Maybe JasmineRain can figure it out . Thanks!

This site is one of the slowest-loading sites I visit.  We have business-class internet service and all the computers on the network are quite speedy.

Look at the bottom of this page - you'll see a line saying "this page was generated in x.xxx seconds."  I regularly see times in excess of 2 or more seconds.  That may not seem like much but it's an eternity when waiting for a page to load.  It has nothing to do with your computer or internet speed; that's the time the server takes to do the queries and generate the page.

screen blinked then faded and and blacked out.

I may have to get my neighbors son over to see if he can figure this out.

It is just so frustrating.

Before I get the computer fixed it was not as slow as it is now in this forum.

And what she says makes sense as when I think about it, I have fast internet and AI is slower than any other site, even ones with tons of graphics to load.

I get bored while it's loading because I am an impatient personality so I play Solitaire or Yahtzee or write emails.
