RA/Low grade fever | Arthritis Information

Does anyone else always run a low grade fever 99.2-99.7?  I always have and it peaks in the afternoons--always feel like crap then.  Went to get my Remicade yesterday and they almost didnt give it to me.  I finally convinced her that this was normal for me.  I thought it was normal for everyone with RA and thought they should have known this.  Was I right?I always am subnormal - 97, sometimes 96.  But I attribute that to my thyroid disease.  Isn't fever a symptom of RA?  That doesn't make sense not to be willing to administer your medication when you are manifesting symptoms of your disease.  Another piece of the puzzle with no picture to finish.  My normal is 97.3 and I have frequent fevers, going up to 101 sometimes, usually at night.  I agree that it's strange they wouldn't give you the meds for an RA symptom, but maybe they believed it was a sign of infection instead, and were reluctant to make it worse.  I assume, however, that you are getting regular bloodwork and your WBC would show if you had an infection starting up.As far as I know it is a listed sign of RA in signs and symptoms - same for me, always running a low grade fever.  Janie Thanks everyone.  I was beginning to get worried.  I have been checking my temp several times a day now--hadnt checked it in forever before my injection Tues.  Of course it has been in the 99's, I thought maybe I was getting sick and shouldnt have gotten the injection.
Thanks everyone.  I was beginning to get worried.  I have been checking my temp several times a day now--hadnt checked it in forever before my injection Tues.  Of course it has been in the 99's, I thought maybe I was getting sick and shouldnt have gotten the injection.
I'm always right around 99.
Since my RA onset and even since remission I have fairly regular low grade fevers.  I'm curious why I still get them even though I've achieved remission.

By the way the nurse at my rhuemetologist is more taken aback when I don't have a temp.  She always says something to the effect that I'm the first patient that day with a normal temp.
TheLa2008-11-14 15:07:59I never take my temperature unless I am feeling really lousy and feel feverish.I don't take my temp but I do feel feverish pretty much every day, peeking in the evenings right around the time I get home from work. I always assumed it to be normal as it is listed everywhere as a symptom of RA. Interesting, I never have taken my temp, unless I am sick......Really Sick .....like falling over
Thanks to everyone for their replies.  You guys made me feel alot better!!  I was ready to go to the urgent care because I thought my first infusion caused it and then the more I read and thought about it, I  have felt crappy every afternoon and my eyes have been burning(feverish) for a long time now.  Guess Im just paranoid.
I always run a pretty high temp at the beginning of a bad flare.  Usually around 101-102 with a crazy looking rash in my armpits and down my sides as well as my inner thighs.  This is pretty characteristic of JRA though.  Fevers are pretty normal for RA patients I think.

It shold be noted that temps around 99.0 or a little above are normal, and common amoung non RA sufferers. As far as I know, I don't have RA and my temp is always around 99.0-99.1 in the evening hours. Been that way for 40 years.
