OT: i have my wood burning stove going! | Arthritis Information
it is amazing to me the difference a wood burning stove can make on your joints! it takes all the dampnees right out of the house. no matter how high you have had your gas heat. thank God for wood burning stoves!!!! w.w.SOunds good. Where do you live?Just wanted to share some info, I've never had this to happen here. i just got through looking @ my ebay account, come here open this thread and guess what's in the ad space??? Ebay is showing me wood stoves for sale!! that's scarey! Ebay knows everything I look at??? has anyone else have this to happen??Don't have ebay account. Don't know. A coincidence at this time of the year?
I got my fireplace going, the more heat I can have on or near me the better. I sware my poor husband gets roasted wherever he goes in the house. I even sleep under a separate blanket (electric) because he can't handle all the heat. But it always feels good to me.
I have the gas fireplace going while i watch movies and crave doughnuts. my husband won't bring me any. I'm about to fire up my gas logs. Gee if I could put a donut through the computer Lorster....oh well I only have chocolate frosted left and you want powdered anyway...
In our current 30-35 degree Celsius heat...no thank you.
But for Australia, where I live in the mountains it gets incredibly cold in the winter...my neighbor chipped ice of her car windscreen this past winter. I tell people who don't live here that we don't have fireplaces up here for show, they are actually used.
Hey, chocolate frosted are good, lol. We compromised. I'm making pancakes for dinner, from scratch. That will take the edge off. i live in tennessee and weather is unseasonably cold right now. it is going to get down in to the 30's tonight and it rained alot last week so the ground is wet. since i started the stove last night, my regular heat is off. i too love my electric blanket!
And it does not help that my hands and feet are like ice cubes if I get out from under the warm covers. I have my heated mattress pad on and it keeps me warm, but only if I keep all of my body parts under the covers.
It is cold in my room, because we are cutting down on the electric heater usage. PLUS, the cap is off the top of our fireplace and all the hear escapes out the fireplace and it lets in the cold air too.
Our fireplace in our bedroom cannot be used. It is too old and needs to be rebuilt and updated before it can be used.
It would be nice and toasty in the livingroom, if the kids would leave the front hall door shut!
