Wonder what changed to lower gas prices?$ 53.00 a BarrellExactly......but why?

Is it a effort to re-boot the auto industry? I don't know.
c-span reported that the gas prices will fall even further this weekend!
Speculators ran the price up to $ 180.00 to begin with. There was never a shortage

I agree. They ran the price up and reaped huge profits. Now the price is driven back down because demand fell because of the high prices, now the refineries(sp) are shutting down and laying off because the prices have been driven down so fast! Hard to feel sorry for them when they made huge profits all summer long.

Along with the commercial credit freeze ( which is affecting me personally) the financial climate of this country is in peril for sure.
You can run a car on Hot Air?
LOL, be nice 6t5. It is a great day, snowed last night, I just came off 7 days of hell and am going to enjoy my 3 days off. Hope you are feeling well today.
Takes a fat ass to know a fat ass... *looks at the imposter inflammedonline*

I mean if you are going to imposter someone, that means you are a fat ass as well, no?

I would think so. I mean you were and are still trying to pass yourself off as inflammedonline... so... that means you are taking their identity as your own.... which to me means you are also taking on how the person looks... so... I guess I am saying you are a fat ass. HA!
BTW... gas around my neck of the woods is .89/galI'm paying .93p, a litre, last month I was paying £1.25 a litre. I too asked the 'why' question to an economist and the explanation was as follows: The arabs slowed production of oil as in barrels output per day... this made the prices go through the roof. As the world economy has hit the floor and people have been buying less fuel, they arabs have upped the output of barrels per day and thus make the oil cheaper.... and therefore the petrol (gas) cheaper.... thank goodness. Horrible thought that people who live in palaces, drive round in very expensive cars and live lives of luxury can literally control so much of our lives... through oil.Yes wills, sad.Looks like it's time to ditch the gas guzzlers and take a longer look at alternative fuel sources. Solar power, anyone?Gas in my neck of the woods .59 , I'm liking it!!

I am all for alternate methods for energy and fuel. The auto industry has dropped the ball on this. They haven’t looked past their corporate jets and extravagant luncheons to put a business plan together for the future. Now they want US to lend them money! I say we do not throw good money after bad. As a business owner when financial problems arise the first thing you do is cut the fat. Huge industry's will have a hard time doing this. Seems like it would be easy. Instead of paying dividends to their share holders they took the money and paid huge salaries to their executives, junior executives, etc. Greed is a funny thing. Makes people lose their minds and common sense.

Gas in my neck .73 a gallon

..............i know all to well about greed.  im like that with food................fat fat fat fat fat.  im such a ditsy .78 yesterday and I almost ran into a tree!! LOL
I think it will go up again for the holidays too! IMO.

.......We have had our petrol prices fall by 70 cents per litre in the last month and I thought we were paying a good price right now.
Ummm, converting amount of litres per gallon in the USA and UK the price in NZ now is:

US Dollars   3.05 Gallon
UK Pounds  2.44 Gallon

Something to be said living closer to them thar oil fields huh??

I love my country but hate our isolation. Well when it comes to gas prices I do!
It was .89 last night when I filled my tank.  I don't expect it to stay there.  I heard on the radio the other day that the big oil guys were talking about decreasing output to drive prices up.  That should be illegal. They are going to try - because those oil subsidies are still on the table and so is the talk of windfall taxes.  They don't keep it down until 'stupid American's' forget - and they'll cut off their own profits permanently.
