What is the difference between Neuropathy and nerve damage?

I cannot for the life of me figure out the difference. Or is there no difference?

I'm not sure there is a difference, but I would guess that most people when they refer to neuropathy are referring to nerve pain (which comes from nerve damage) and when they refer to nerve damage are referring to long-term/semi-permanent/permanent nerve damage. But that's a good question and if someone knows better, I'd love to hear more.Me too. I tried to figure out what the difference between them both, but it was too much reading and googling for my brain to try to distinguish if there was a difference.
