Oh the pain! | Arthritis Information

Well... the pain is not as bad as it use to be, but man... it is still bothersome and annoying and just something that should never be there in the first place!

My knees are throbbing with pain today. I guess it is because of the rain we are getting and that I have been cleaning house. My right leg is in more pain than my left. The pain is acutally running from the outside of my right hip and running diagonally to the inside of my right knee.

Yes, I am complaining about something that ya'll have heard of for a while now. I have tried to get it fixed, had MRIs, x-rays, and even went to a neuorologist and still no one can fix my problem or are on willing to because I am already on to many meds as it is.

For this pain I have been taking 3 ultracets at one time. But when I do that, it makes me really really sleepy and all I want to do is sleep. But it does take the edge off that pain a great bit for a little while.

Being in constant pain can actually drive someone crazy. I know... it have happened to me a many of times.
GOod thoughts for you.

Aw Joonie.  That must be frustrating, especially since no one seems to know what to do for it.  Wish I could help, my friend.

Sorry you are in pain :(I'm sorry too Joonie.

HI Joonie, I know how you feel, but we would never know you are suffering as you are always so upbeat, congrats on not letting this disease take away your sense of humour!  Hugs Janie.I was wondering if you wrapped your knees up with ace bandages would it help- but I guess not if it coming all the way from the hip.

Hope you get relief soon!

Hi,

I am sorry about the pain you are in too.  The rain can play a big part as I am sure you already know. but you say this is something you complain about often.  maybe the remicade isn't working anymore.  I didn't feel any relief at all on remicade.  some of them work for a little while then stop.  What about taking Enbrel.  Don't know your history but if you haven't tried it, it was worked the longest for me. but this is a mean momma jamma of a disease and it shows up without rhyme or reason. so hang in there.

feel better soon.

I am now on Enbrel every 4 days and feel no difference . the pain is bad for me esp. at night. I sit here typing after taking 2 vicodin 7.5 and I feel the same. Maybe time to try  the Iv biologics for me.
Thanks everyone! It is better today. It is now just a little nagging pain, nothing to complain about or even think about really.

Shelly - I was told by my neuorologist that this problem is caused by inflammation pressing on my spinal cord entraping a nerve. The only way to make it stop doing that is to keep the inflammation down. Well... hard to do with it being cold and rainy.

Remicade works REALLY well for me. I was off of it for a while, because I had to get my rapid pulse straightened out before my RD would let me have Remicade again. And that took a couple of months. So... I am back at square one, if you will, for Remicade to do its thing.

But I can tell you this... Remicade has brought down my inflammation a WHOLE LOT. I use to have VERY swollen joints, I mean swelling to the point of things looking like grapefruits and just about every joint in my body swelled at the same time. With the Remicade, it is little to no swelling. So... Remicade is working quite well for me, when I get it.

Glad you are feeling better Joonie!

hahahaa... graciesmom... washboard abs.

I think I am stuck with my baby keg.

Yeah, I have been trying to do the back exercises that the neurologist gave me. He said they would help with the back spasms I get too, but it seems to make my lower back spasm when I do one of the exercises. I have been doing my neck exercises.
