My own arthritis/raynauds gloves | Arthritis Information

Having decided that I didn't want to pay shipping on some fingertipless arthritis gloves to keep my frozen fingers from getting so painful, and not finding them anywhere locally, I decided to "make my own".  I got a pair of "garden gloves" at the dollar store...they are lavender (bonus!) knit gloves with a rubberized coating on the palm side of the gloves for gripping.  I cut off the fingertip ends (which I'm still adjusting thanks to my short fingers) and I'm giving them a go tonight.  I figure even if they don't work out, the price was right!

I hope they work for you. However, I have seen the gloves at Walmart in the pharmacy area, Also I have priced them at CVS. Let me know how they work out.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND ALL YOURS!
I'm confused... If you have raynaud's ... don't you want your finger tips covered?[QUOTE=inflamedOnline]

Babs, sorry for the confusion, was following up on a previous thread.  I personally haven't been diagnosed with Raynaud's...I have told my RD about my frozen painful fingers, with no color changes, and he hasn't said anything about them.  When I am at the computer or sitting watching TV is when it happens most.  Since I am typing at the computer (or even using the TV remote), I need the fingertips free.  I found a pair of arthritis gloves like that which were inexpensive, but like I said the shipping was ridiculous and I wasn't even sure they'd help me all that much.  So I figured this was an inexpensive way to try out a solution.
the fingertipless ones are compression gloves to help with the swelling.  At least that's wht I think you are talking about.

I have Raynaud's and my fingers get blue/purple so I want those covered up....
thanks innerglow and Debrakay.... you both were very helpful w/your answers!!

I'm sorry you suffer w/ raynaud's......  my mother had as well.

I have raynauds and my hands get very cold while using the computer.  But I don't think I'd want my fingertips covered,..just guessing that it would be harder to type with them covered.  But the fingertips cut out of a glove would certainly help with keeping my fingers warm.  Of course not as warm as they'd  be with the tips covered...but still warmer than without the gloves.  I've never seen these gloves, so I'm not certain on how they'd be for typing.Oh, you guys are so punk!RE: PUNK
Gimpy, does that mean that we are hoodlums, juvenile, delinquent, troublemaker, brat or snot-nosed. Oh, and hooligan.  Or all of the above. LOL
Alright, here's my photo of my lavender gloves:

I have decided that they do help somewhat, and for the price they are worth it.  They help even more now that I've decided to store them on the shelf just about my CPU which keeps them nice and toasty.

BTW, here are the gloves I wanted to buy:

They are .95 or less at many internet outlets, but the shipping wasn't worth it.  I also realize after "cutting my own" that my short fingers probably would have meant that these gloves would have covered too much of my fingertip anyway.  Although they're certainly more fitted and look a lot nicer, I'm happy with what I've got for now.
