Hello margaret82 , welcome here!! Sorry to hear about the pain that you are in.

I have not tried the Infrared heating pads. I use the ones that you can put
in the microwave to heat or in the freezer for icing. I have a couple of them on
hand at all times. They also have a velcro wrap to keep in place.
Tylenal Arthritis did nothing for me but Advil I love , it works wonders.
Also hop on the RA part of the forum where we talk about every thing
and you will get more responses there.    Maimi
Hi,
I would like to say hello as I'm new to this forum & tell you a little about myself. I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in 2000 when in the hospital for lymphoedema I was also diagnosed with the gout. Over the eight years I have had it the pain in my shoulders & knees has gotten so bad that I now have to use a walker & can't leave the house. My doctor only recommended Tylenol arthritis as I have asked him for any medication that may work as the Tylenol does nothing. It is getting to the point where I no longer can stand the pain. I'm for the most part bed ridden half the day. My son was telling me about a infrared heating pad. Does anyone know if these work? as I see they are very expensive. I would also like to know of any medication I can talk to my Doctor about?. I have tried all the over the counter stuff to no avail. The thing that scares me is he is talking about a wheelchair I just need some help & information from you who are going through this. Thank you for your time & help.
