Just wondering if anyone here has had an endometrial biopsy.  I've looked for some other forums to ask my question, but most look like it's been a while since someone's posted.

Anyway, I have to have this procedure done on the 16th and I was wondering how painful this is?
Kel - yikes, it just sounds bad.  I have never had one, but have had three cervical biopsies for dsyplagia with followup cryosurgery, and I hate to say it ain't fun.  It's not the pain, but when they take that bite out of you for the biopsy, its just too strange to feel it happening inside you.  I know I am not being very positive, but you might as well go in prepared.  Luckily, they are usually quick procedures.  Let us know and you will be in my thoughts and prayers on the 16th ~~ Cathy PS Hopes another lady in here might have some insight for you. Thanks, Cathy.  Yes, I've heard it's a quick procedure...so that's good.
I'm kinda worried as well..hoping the results are good...I guess I'll know a couple of weeks after the 16th.
Thanks again, Cathy

I had one too. It was several years ago but I remember it as being like a hard pinch with a little cramping. Not pleasant but not horrible. I was able to drive myself home afterward.

Best of luck to you!
Kelstev,

I have not had one done but wanted to let you know that I will be thinking of you.  Hiking_gal
Thanks so much, Lorster, Pin, WTB, and hiking girl.  I really appreciate your replies and good wishes.Good luck.

Love your graphics!!!
Ahh bless your heart Kel...All I know is that "way back when....nearly 30+ years ago" there was no such thing as a biopsy for the endometrial....back then it was all pretty much just being embarked on that anything to do with the endometrium was treated......

I wish you the best of luck, all the Docs could offer me to relieve my pain and the disease back then  of "ENDOMETRIOSIS" was to remove the uterus...and all the other parts it affected.

Be strong, at least you are given a chance and I am sure there are all new meds out there to help.

Thikin of ya! Prayers and hugs sent!Had it too --- and it isn't too bad at all.
The first one I had: I drove myself home, the 2nd one: I drove back to work . . .

So don't worry ....... and the best of luck !!!

Thanks for the info and good wishes, Jan, Jode, Maz and SnowOwl.

Jode...I don't have any pain from this...other issues going on.  Basically abnormal bleeding.  So they want to see what's causing that and from the ultrasound that I had done, they're seeing some changes from the last one I had a year ago.

I'll remember to go to my happy place [QUOTE=Maz-aust]

If you have pain meds such as vicodin or darvocet, take it about 45 minutes before the procedure.  Motrin or a NSAID might make you more prone to bleeding, ask your physician.  Tylenol might even help take the edge off a little.  Good luck!Kelly, I hope everything checks out fine and the test isn't too uncomfortable.  I'll be thinking about you!

Kel, add my good wishes to your list.  I haven't had anything like that done so I don't know what it's going to be like, but you'll get through it all right.  Hi Kel, I've had two of them and I won't lie, it isn't pleasant but it IS fast. I'm also a big baby. Sometimes the worrying is worse than the actual procedure. Good luck and take something for the pain and it will be over before you know it.

Thanks so much Goldie, Karen, Linncn and Gwen...very much appreciated!

I had a similar bio done many years ago.  It is a quick snip--and then a bit of cramping and it is over.  Thanks Catnip All I remember is coffee grounds and cramps - yuck! They did something where they snipped a piece from up there, but it was quite a while back and I don't remember what it was called. I think I worked myself up with worry about the procedure, but when it came to actually doing it it wasn't too bad.  I hope the results are normal for ya! Let us know what they say. Thanks for the info Mel
