OT - Ice skating! | Arthritis Information

I went ice-skating with the elementary classes from my kids' school today.  What a blast!  I hadn't been on skates in probably 20 years.  It was rough at first - it's certainly not like riding a bike; you CAN forget how to skate.

I'd have more that a bruise...even if it was in technicolor....LOL

Sounds like a good time.
I was just thinking that I would like to try ice skating again to get some exercise and I was pondering about whether or not I'd be able to after 20 years. It looks easy but then I bet the balance thing would be difficult at 48.
I also have no one to ice skate with Well, my behind muscles are a bit sore this morning, but other than that I seem to have no ill effects from 3 hours of ice skating yesterday.  The boys want me to take them again tomorrow... I told them perhaps next weekend.  I don't want to push my luck!!! Ankles and feet are completely pain-free.  I learned long ago that you have to tie up skates super-tight (and then tighten them some more!!!) in order to protect the ankles.  My feet are pretty tough these days, so they can withstand bouts of abuse with no ill-effects.

Sounds great!!!!!
Well, we went ice skating again on Sunday.  I skated for about 2 hours; the boys could only hang with saggy old mom for about 45 minutes.
