Christmas Game | Arthritis Information

With todays economy I thought I would share, what has turned out to be a family tradtion a game we play at our family christmas party, It cuts the shopping way down:

First little children should never play this game. Parents always bring a little gift for their own child, with a price limit like 10.00 or whatever is agreed upon. Then you have the children open their own gifts.

Adults: Bring a gift, wrapped, with price agreed upon ahead of time: You put all the the gifts in one pile: everyone picks a number from a jar, one number for as many players and gifts, we are up to 16 players, the person with the lowest number (1) goes first, they choose and unwrap the gift, the next player (2) can decide to unwrap a new gift or steal number (1) gift, If they steal a gift, that person is to unwrap a new gift, once several gifts are unwrapped, a player can have choices at what they want to steal, if in any round a palyer steals a gift that gift is safe, until the next round, this goes on until all numbers are played and all gifts are unwrapped, It is alot of fun, the stratedgy that develops is awsome fun. You can even play as couples and bring (one) gift. It is awsome when you get the highest number, because you have a choice from Everything!

Do not let little children play, they do not understand giving up their gift.

Just wanted to share!

Try it, It is alot of fun, our family looks forward to the game every year.
They play that at work every year and they seem to have a lot of fun with it.We've played that with several different groups that I've been involved in including family. It's always fun. We've played with children too you just pick out an age appropreate gift so that some childrens gifts are in the mix too. I guess it depends on the children. As long as the children understand the rules of the game they like it. We have had some that get upset....but more times than not the children enjoy playing as well. The times we haven't included the kids they have sat around watching wishing they were included. The key is for the families to team up and if the kid doesn't get a "kid gift" one of the parents can choose a "kid gift" and switch with them at the end. The key is to keep the dollor amount low so that it doesn't really matter what you end up with. It's more about fun than walking away with a "good gift".

Great game for large crowds. It's not so much fun with less than 15 people. Get about 30 and it's a ball....and takes up a lot of party time where everyone would be off visiting in seperate groups. This game pulls everyone together. Gag gifts are fun to throw in the mix too.
We do that too!  It's fun :)Lame IOWe do that every year at the in-laws. Just the adults. For the kids we draw names. We have  the kids all pick a name out of a hat at Thanksgiving. We have the kids write 3 things they wants so the shopper knows what to get. This works good for a large family and every kid get what they want. Uncle Mikey and Aunt Coo don't have kids so they like to buy for all the kids but we can't afford to so this helps save $$.
