Hi,
well i am emailing you from the hospital bed. I have been admitted again, not sure why. but they are not able to help me with the muscle pain. the pressure was high and the edema was increased. especially the torso which was what concerned me. however, i had not planned to be admitted just diuressed.  the muscle pain is debilitating. sure wish they could do something about that but was told to follow up with rheumatology.  I think they will discharge me soon.
hope you are doing well. take care.
I am sorry to hear you are in the hospital, get well soon and keep us posted!!

Best wishes,
Lisa
inflamedOnline2008-12-09 07:15:24Sorry to hear this- hospitals are no fun. Hope you are able to go home soon!thanks everybody.
yes, i will let you know things go.
they are thinking the muscle weakness/pain is from the rituxan.
one doc said I seemed aware and asked a lot of questions. she said it was good. I didn't feel I was asking a lot of questions but just wanted to know why I was admitted, the source, and what was being done about it. so far a lot test because of history for a pulmonary embolus (PE). even though that was in 2005.  so had  a v/q scan, a chest x-ray pa and lateral, echocardiogram, renal scan, today a doppler of my legs. and loads of blood work watching my creatine count which was elevated. urine specimens due to proteinuria, etc.   I am ready to leave but upset about the muscle weakness. it makes me feel helpless.
what can you do. the good thing about rituxan is you don't have to take it everyday. the bad thing is if you are having side effects from it, it isn't like you can stop the medicine to stop the side effects.

soooo.
also, just wondering if anyone else is in the hospital often due to ra and its secondary conditions.
take care.

O M goodness..  I'm sorry you are in there!  I hope you find relief and the cause...

my best to you!!
Hope you're out soon and feeling better.Shelly,

I'm sorry to read you are in the hospital too.  I hope you get better soon.
Sorry to hear you are in the hospital.  I personally think that most hospitalizations (for RA'ers) are secondary to RA, (infections, pain, surgeries, etc).  The one person that stands out for me and hospital visits is Cordelia.  PM her and she will fill you in!
Take care and get well soon.
Sorry to hear ths Shelly.  I hope you get home soon.Weakness is a scary feeling. Wanted you to know I was still following you. Please keep us informed.
Lisa
Shelly, I'm so sorry to hear about your hospitalization, it sounds like alot of things at once and I hope your dr's can get it figured out.

As to your question, I've been dx'd with RA for 21 years and have never ended up in the hospital, but have a friend who was on Enbrel and spent weeks in the hospital when it turned on her. Like you said once you take one of the long acting infusions and there's a reaction it takes awhile for it to clear your system. Hope your feeling better soon.thanks everybody.the sjogren symptoms are acting up even with them placing me on prednisone again, so please ignore typos. sorry if it doesn't make sense.
i think once you have a blood clot, they always work you up for one when you are sick again.  i am so swollen most of the time so they keep thinking it is because of a blood clot.  my chest pressures are high at 80 this time on echocardiogram, normal at 30 or so, now they are talking about doing another heart cath. the last one showed I did not have the pulmonary hypertension a doctor dx'd me with in Jan. and placed me on meds for it. not sure if i want a repeat heart cath. complications from last with huge hematomas and my neck doubled in size. it felt like my airway was compromised. if I skip the heart cath I can go home today,, if not then maybe monday.  i am ready to go home today and worried about complications again. they have me on blood thinners again and i think that's why the hematomas last time.
thanks everbody for support. it helps to have other to compare these experiences with. i always feel i am understood here. take care everybody.
Hope you get to go home today- take care!I'm so sorry to hear of your problems. I hope you get answers soon and are able to go home. But sometimes, you really need to be there, no matter how much you hate it. I think you should make sure the docs know how you feel about a repeat heart cath. and the problems you had with the last one. Then find out how necessary they think it really is, considering all the potential problems. They might think that the possible benefit outweighs the risks. But that's just my opinion. Of course, the ultimate decision must be yours.

Hope you feel better very soon!
My thoughts and prayers are with you,
Nini
