Arthritis Information -Hi, Another Newbie

Hi,

Thought I would introduce myself and ask a ? or two.

My name is Bobbi and I'm a 43yo Mom to three.

I started having a lot of pressure in the lower left of my head as well as feelings of having difficulty breathing (like the back of my throat is trying to close). Also when the pressure builds I start to feel disoriented and have trouble concentrating.

I've had X-Rays, CT scan, MRIs, MRAs, and bloodwork. So far all they are coming up with is cervical arthritis.

They have given me Ibuprofen, muscle relaxer and Adavan (in case its all in my head and I'm having anxiety attacks) so far nothing has worked to stop this.

Does anyone have similar symptoms? Does this sound like arthritis?  If so, what has worked for you? This is really effecting my life, I am having trouble trying to work as well as just driving to get there.

Thanks for any suggestions or info, I just don't know if they are giving up on what one MD described as a 'challenge to diagnose" and telling me I have this cervical arthritis and to just live with it.

Thanks again,
Bobbi
Hi Milly,

Thank you for the welcome.

My throat doesn't feel like it's dry, just like something is pushing against the back of it and making it feel like it is closing. When I swallow, it eases up for a few seconds...I'm drinking a lot of water...at least I'm well hydrated. LOL.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that I also get tremors on and off throughout the day, sometimes mild and sometimes quite violent. They are though my whole body. Can arthritis do this?

I went to see a new neurologist today, same practice but my usual one was out of the office. This doc. told me that my EEG shows signs of slowness in my frontal lobe area on both sides so she is sending me back for another MRI as well as having me do another EEG, this time for 48 hours. Also more bloodwork.

Fun,

I have RA i get arthritis in my neck and fibro also. The back of my lower head hurts. I certainly feel like there is pressure on the back of my head. My tendon gets very stiff and that is the one that goes up into the back of you head. That does not help me feel any better that is for sure. Feeling tired and swollen any where that sounds about right. Fatigue is a big problem as well as general ill health. Is your throat dry? I also have Sjorgren's Syndrome. I get some swollen glands, i think i get the swollen glands from the Sjorgren's but it could be the RA also. I am not sure? Welcome to the board.Let me know how your test come out. I get a little shaking sometimes. Maybe just the swelling. They may also test you for thyriod issues this could cause throat problems. What do they suspect with frontal lobe slowness? I knew someone that shock all of the time. He had an inlarged area in the back lobes if i recall right. It was an irratating problem not a serious one. I hope you do not have anything very bad. Let me know what they say.
If you have auto immune disease of any kind all sorts of strange things can happen to you and your body. Also you can post on the RA forum and probably get more feedback. Most people hang out and chat there. They have a variety of illnesses. Some like you not diagnosed yet.
