anyone here suffer from this??? My forearm palm side is really bothering me, I don't know if this is from wrist pain due to Ra or could it be Carpal Tunnel. pain from the wrist is all pinkie side. thanks for any info.......A bit of both probably. That is you may benifit from a wrist splint or a hand splint? I have been told i have bilateral carpultunnel. Really mostly bothers me when i am flaring in the wrist and hands ect.

Many times i have noticed this to be a sign of a flare starting is when i start dropping things. What meds are you taking?

LMFAO, what did you get carpal tunnel in your fat ass while you were pregnant?
Hi Janlee, Milly is correct, a splint works wonders by keeping the wrist in the position it should be.  I had my splints made at the hospital by the OT, they don't look the best but they do the job.  Sometimes I put them on if I am about to do housework, as when I lift things I also get pain and the splint helps that too.  Best of luck.  Janie.Janlee - there is a great thread in here not to long ago, and I believe buckeye posted about carpal tunnel (which we get from inflammation trapping the nerve, not repetitive work) and another one cause by inflammation near the elbow, which causes a different set of symptoms.

I have had two RA attacks of carpal tunnel.  I refused surgery both times, which was the first response out of the doctor's mouths, and the first one was pre-dx, and is a symptom of RA.

I instead went to a hand/wrist occupational therapist, still do every specialized hand and wrist exercises to warm up in the mornings, and wear two splints - one set is for when I am reading or quiet and is to help with ulnar drift (very painful to wear at first, but they are now broken in", and the other set is a "resting" splint that goes from my finger tips to my elbow that I wear at night, and also works against ulnar drift.

All this has made a huge difference.  I only got the splints in August, and my hands are steadily improving.  Good luck - Cathy
I use a mouse all thre time at work. When I got some discomfrt I got a wrist rest mouse pad. Has a bump under your wrist so it's supported...FYIThank You for all replys... I do have splints from ortho Dr before I was Dx. I don't wear them, not to smart I know! I just hate wearing them. my hands really are doing better since I've been on Mtx. I guess it's time to start them again. this is a new pain and I don't want it too get worse.

Jsnm- thanks for info. glad your hands are doing better.

6t5- good idea! that's the hand that bothers me the most....
