Keep a sense of humor | Arthritis Information

My arthritis is flaring and I'm back on prednisone after 2 weeks off. I really hate that stuff. I have bad sideaffects. So I thought it was time to tell a funny arthritis story. I try to keep my sense of humor, no matter what.

My husband and I had gone to pick out his new lab puppy. We had 1st choice in the litter of 11. I was using my forearm crutches that day instead of my walker because it would be easier to maneuver inside a strange house. We had fun playing with the puppies, had picked our choice and were exiting the front door.  I forgot there was a step down before the sidewalk and I fell face down in the grass in a spred eagle position. My crutches stuck in the grass and I couldn't get up. The first thing I did was to look around to see if anybody had seen me and then I burst out laughing. My husband was laughing to. The grass was nice and soft.

PS The puppy is 110# and hes not fat, he runs everyday.

If you have a funny arthritis story I would love to hear it.

LOL!!!! That's funny!!!!! What did you name your lab?????

I'm too early into RA to have any memorable stories, but I'll share another story just for fun. When I had my son in 1998, I used to go to a Mom's board for new moms. All of the moms were talking about the best kind of milk to feed your baby and many were mentioning EBM as being the best if you were unable to get your baby to latch on to breastfeeding. I had some medical problems (cardiomyopathy) making it difficult to breastfeed, so I went to Babies R Us in search of EBM milk. NO one knew what I was looking for! I came back to the new mommies board and told them of my dilemma. There was lots of laughter as they explained to me that EBM = expressed breast milk (i.e....milk you pump). Anyhow, I've never forgotten my EBM milk story. Next time I'll tell you about my bubblegum miscarriage :) Love and gentle hugs, Juliah
