Thinking today, I over done it. wished I hadn't. But glad I did. Had some much needed fun. Two christmas celebarations in one weekend. Today I rest.

Have a Great Day everyone!
inflamedOnline2008-12-22 06:39:04Me too! Shopping all day yesterday ....... then a party at the Delaware Museum of Natural Sciences.......  I can't be done til tonight..
It's my youngest's birthday on Tuesday and we're celebrating w/ a big dinner and cake.. He turns 13!!!  WOW..
Then, when they all go home.... I'll fall into bed exhausted.......  with a smile on my face!

ETA:  I am so GLAD I am able to do all this!!  Last year.. I could have done NONE!! So there is a great improvement here!!
babs102008-12-14 10:43:26Shopping was created by the devil....(lol)...kidding of course. I use to love to shop and bargain hunt, now,  not so much.

I am keeping Christmas low key this year.

13 years old....becareful how  many times you blink Babs....he'll be all grown before you know it.
oh honey.. he's the youngest of five... the others are 21,22, 26 and 28 (on NYE) ... I'm well aware of how fast time goes!!  ;)Five...........Five...............Wow.

Gripes..that  is awsome. there were 5 syblings in my family. I too was the "baby"

I could write a book on hand me downs....lol
I have 3 kids, ages 25, 22, and 16.  I always wish I would have had more.  I mean, at 16 my daughter has one foot out the door and I know how these next couple of years will fly by.  I've loved being a mom so much, I just don't want it to be over.  I know I'll always be a mom, but it's different when the kids are grown and on their own.  But then, it's kind of exciting too, wondering what will be in store for my husband and me once our nest is empty!Oh great..........so I took a long nap, now it is almost 10:30 pm. I just woke up a little bit ago....wide awake and rested. I fell asleep about 6:00 pm only meant to shut my eyes for a minutefor awhile... we had 9 living here.. my oldest two and their spouses while they saved money to buy a house....... so that's four... then the other three kids...and DH and I.. plus four dogs and two cats (at that time)
Our home was always a party....... lots of laughter and talking and fun!  then the four of them moved out in a year.....   That leaves the five of us ...... it's much quieter.. but I am not anxious to have an empty nest.....  *sigh*  my husband loved it too!  He's as crazy as I am! LOL

babs,

My husband is crazy fun he can have a party all by himself if he has too. Everyone is attracted to him for fun , sometimes it a curse

Anywho, there were our two children and my husbands nephew we raised. Plus, the five kids next door, ( 3 pregnancy and 5 kids out of the deal) 4 of them were very much a part of our household, they come and go , eat, sleep, it was crazy at times. I loved it. Now the kids next door have all moved away to college, their father bought them a house and sent them away to college, they all live together, bet that place is something.

My daughter finished college, she is a secondary school teacher ( special education) and her husband is a city police officer, he is also in the Army Reserves. They gave me my beautiful baby boy grandson....sigh...I could swallow him whole.

Our son he is a pipe fitter....not really sure what he does, but he is busy and makes enough $$ and his insurance is good. My husband says he is fine in his profession.

The empty nest....very different.......house stay 10,000 times neater, and laundry is very manageable. You don't feel like your cleaning clothes for an orphanage. lol

Ok, now I am really done.....been up since 3:30 am (ish).....Got my cut out cookies done, Christmas wrapped...(bagged)...car packed to go to family gathering tomorrow and grocery shopping done for all the food for Christmas eve and day...I am past being DONE....I am BAKED!!!!!!!!!!!..........tired...My husband was on hand to help all day.

He especially was on hand to "taste the cookies"...had to relieve him of that duty

I have plans to SLEEP IN !!!!!!!!!!!!
I finished my shopping yesterday and that was a big relief! Now I have wrapping, wrapping, wrapping.
I am making a pot of sauce and the sausage for Christmas eve. Why I am making lasagna for dinner to boot proves I am crazy.
I also have the cookies to do. I made snickerdoodles and magic cookie bars. I don't think I'll make more than toll house and spritz. I might even put a nix on the spritz. Why kill myself. MIL is bringing Christmas cookies anyway and hers are to die for. That lady could open a bakery.
Weather is atrocious here. Heavy, icy rain. Glad my shopping is done!!!!
I hear you on the relief thing Wttbraf, I say Nix the spritz , and start enjoing yourself!
I feel so much better this morning, I finally slept last night.
I am even making some beef jerkey this morning, I marinated the beef last night and dehydrating this morning...I am even up out of bed and taking my coffee in the family kihcen area.... So stick a fork in me...I am done and now it feels Great!!!!!!
It is very quiet around here. Boo Hoo. The kids moved into there own house a few days ago. They will be over this evening of course. You would think a 6,5,4 year old and an infant would stress you out. Well they do but i love them being around all of the time instead of part of the time.
They are still in town. So i can see them several times a week.

I love a lively house too! But, it is nice when they all go home
My husband and I are so excited having a beautiful baby boy Grandson. Makes my heart

Inflamed I posted this before but it didn't take.

I did put the nix on the Spritz as well as all baking for next year. It's just not worth the effort...

Finished wrapping at midnight until my toe kicked out a stray present from under the bed this morning when I was getting ready for work. Snatched that sucker up and wrapped it real quick! Hope you can enjoy the season now too!
