I am having terrible stomach problems and do not know whats causing it. I have a bad burning in my stomach with pain that goes through to my back. I keep going hot and cold and feel very nauseas. If i touch my stomach the pain is bad and up under my breastbone is very tender. I have had a camera down my throat and nothing at all showed up I had an ultra sound done to look at my gall bladder and that was all clear. I take lansoprazole, am on no other meds at the moment. Its the stomach pain thats causing me concern as its waking me up in the night too. Not sure what else to do.try: Prilosec OTC, I take one daily. I swear I could swallow air and have heartburn.

I would talk to your dr tomorrow.  Maybe even get the gallbladder checked again.  I had what turned out to be a gallbladder attack and the ultrasound came back clear.  Same thing happened again a few weeks later-ultrasound showed numerous stones and inflammation.

Are you taking any of the over the counter meds-prilosec or something?  There are also prescription ones that can be helpful.  It sounds like heartburn, but of course we are not doctors.  If it is keeping you up at night-it definitely warrants a call in the morning.  Otherwise-your stomach will hurt and then your joints will hurt cause you are tired.  Fun time!
Hey Lisa, sorry you're not feeling well.  This is not the time of year to get sick!

Have you taken your temp to see if you have a fever?  The hot/cold feeling and pain to your back sounds like MORE than heartburn.  I would watch things closely, and don't let yourself get into too much pain before you seek help - at the hospital if necessary.  You could have something serious like pancreatitis or another gastric infection going on, which needs medical attention.   Better get it checked out soon.
I think someone else here had really good results with aloe-vera juice. It's worth looking into.So sorry, Pinn

That is the kind of pain I had with an ulcer.  Does'nt sound so for you though since your scope was clear.  Mine would keep me up for hours at night rocking back and forth in pain.
Maybe it is inflamation that is not ulcerated as of yet?  Though I was nauseated and had no appetite I found that if I ate a little something (ulcer friendly) every couple of hours it did not get so bad.  If I went to long that horrible knawing pain would start up again.  That and tagamet (sp) got me through it.  Took about 2 weeks to heal.

Feel better Thanks so much to all of you, once again you are my rocks...i will pester my g.p. tomorrow. i keep trying to ignore it as after the scope and ultra sound were clear i thought maybe i was being a bit of a hyperchondriac...lolI had a lot of stomach issues a few weeks back.  Kept going to the ER because of the cramping in my gut.  They did labs, stool cultures, xrays, and ct scans and found nothing.  All I knew is that it hurt.  That and like inflamed put it, I could swallow air and get heartburn AND nausea afterwards.  I finally found a GI specialist that could see me quick and he did the upper endoscopy and a colonoscopy in the same day.  (colonoscopy is not as bad as it sounds by the way..not pleasant but not bad)  The upper revealed that I have GERD, which I sort of knew from a barium swallow done years ago.  Because I was on medicaid at the time, they refused to pay for my nexium so I quit taking it for several years.  There was nothing abnormal on the lower portion.

It honestly sounds like GERD to me too.  Maybe the doc didn't see it because there was no inflammation present at the time.  Mine was to the point that my voice was/is hoarse and it can even go far enough up to make your sinuses irritated too.  I'd keep on the docs about this if I were you.  The squeaky wheel gets the grease you know.
Good luck...hope they find the problem soon.
Bob
Thanks Bob, tomorrow i will be the squeaky wheelBe careful though Pin.  I was a little too squeaky and now I have to find a new doctor
I think I offended him..or maybe wounded the giant ego that most doctors seem to have.
So sorry you are feeling so ill Pin. Sure hope you feel better soon! i am sorry pin.  i am wishing you the best!  w.w. Sure sounds like gallbladder problems - they don't always show up on ultrasound.  Maybe a HIDA scan is in your future.  I hope they get to the bottom of this issue soon!!!
[QUOTE=inflamedOnline]try: Prilosec OTC, I take one daily. I swear I could swallow air and have heartburn. I am so sorry to hear about your stomach issues.  Take it from someone who really knows first hand it is no fun at all.

I went in because I was on prilosec twice a day and bentyl I believe twice a day.  But I would still get acid reflux and heartburn.  Doc did a scope and then a ph study.  Said my acid reflux was bad enough to do what they call a lap nissen.  (that's short for what it's really called).

During this procedure he needed to make my esphogus (spelling??) longer.  And also remove a hurnia bigger than a grapefruit that he didn't know was there until he opened me up.   I had terrible pain in my gut and such.  He believes it was caused by long term use of anti-inflamitories.  Trying not to make this so long.  sorry.  But basically it's gonna take a year to heal.  (the surgery).  But I have had to only take prilosec 4 times in the last 4 months.  And have only had the pain maybe twice, the pain I use to have.
Thanks Shy. I have wondered if it is a hernia and will ask my doc about it.I could only get an appointment tomorrow morning but that fine. Thanks everyone else for your kind words.Just a note that the ultrasound is not the only test done for a gallbladder. There is a hydascan, check spelling. They watch your galllbladder in action to make sure it is actually working.
I had attacks for years and the ultrasounds were always negative. I totally flunked the hydascan.
Thanks milly i asked my doc about it and hes referring me to gastro doctor...with this and now my arm and shoulder....i think im falling to pieces.Well if you fall to pieces and i fall to pieces. I hope they put the right ones back on when they pick them up for us. LOL
I am actually feeling a little better for a change. I don't no why. I am still on antibiotics. But swelling is not as bad as it was. I had to get a shot in my shoulder at the ortho. I can move it some now. Went to PT today. They put a nice heat pack on it after excercise.
