I take a multivitamin everyday and also vitamin D.  I just bought some cod liver oil but

I got wondering though about taking too much vitamin D.

My multi vitamin has 400 IU
The vitamin D I take is 1000 IU
The cod liver oil has 135 IU

Is this too much?

How many cod liver oil capsules are you planning to take, and what is the purpose of your taking them?

I'd just be taking one capsule. My mother suggested I take the cod liver oil..she thinks it might help prevent the many colds I've been getting. Apparently, since she's been taking it, she's never had a cold.  I doubt that's the reason why she's not had a cold, but I thought..it couldn't hurt..right?
I take 2000 I.U. of Vitamin D/day and doing so has lifted my level into the "normal" zone.  I would be more concerned about the total Vitamin A, per this link:
