I just need to vent.  I think I'm living under a dark cloud.  In the past few weeks my transmission in my car that is only 4 years old died, my microwave only 4 1/2 years old dies, now the 4 1/2 year old downstairs heater died!  With the frigid temperatures I'm doing the unthinkable...paying time and a half for after hours repairs!!!! AARGH!  I want to rejoin the Christmas fun zone!!!! LaI am with you. In the last 30 days:

Hot water tank replaced
Water softner repaired
Maytag washer repaired ( I thought they never needed repaired)
car:4 new tires...

All in time for the Holidays!

Well at least I'm not alone. !  [QUOTE=TheLa]

Murphy's Law!
For me my roof just leaked which ruined my daughter's wall and came down to ruin the corner of the dining room ceiling. The roofer didn't show up today and the weather is expected to be rainy for the next few days. My company will be mostly in the dining room Christmas Eve.

La you had three bad things- they say they come in three's so hopefully you are done!

okay repair guy just left-bad circuit board-mine is (of course) second most expensive....
4.00! Jeez, couldn't one of my 3 bad things at least been in the middle repair range!
LaYou know that old "Hee Haw" song? It applies here:
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. Gloom, despair and agony on me.
Yep, that's my song. LOL
A lot of us were in a bad place last year RA wise. It almost seems like something was in the air!

La- those darn circuit boards are expensive! I had one go in a "young" gas range. It was going to be close to 0. The problem it caused was most times the oven would work but sometimes it would go off in the middle of cooking and would not come back on. Always at the most inopportune times like if I had company over. I wouldn't put that money into it and I didn't want to put the money out to buy a new stove but when it happened on a Thanksgiving and I had to finish the turkey out on the gas grill- I broke down and bought a new one.

edited to say those darn instead of them darn- after I read it back I sounded like someone on HeeHaw LOL!
wanttobeRAfree2008-12-17 06:47:41this fall we had to replace a rotten bay window which did not go so well costs lots of money had to be custom made and then taken in and out several times all at our expense.  in the meantime our retaining wall that holds up the neighbor's yard fell down (we are replacing this now) and last tuesday during a rain storm our roof leaked so bad we had a puddle in the floor of our living room which we have not begun to repair.  oh plus our fireplace leaks!  and few other small roof leaks.   and shall i go into our 20 year old cars..... think not......  wonderwoman   p.s. and the grown kids want to know what they are getting for christmas.   ha   haoh let's not forget my hubby's salary was cut by a ,000.00 a month (take home pay).
life is a joy!
After reading these horror stories I am thankful for the little plumbing problem I had this morning - the shower faucet broke while in the all-the-way HOT position.  Luckily I was able to get the valve knob off and am now using an adjustable wrench as a handle.  At least I can take a shower this morning without burning the flesh off my bones!  Now I have to go to the hardware store tonight and find a replacement. JR you reminded me of the time I tried to adjust the non adjustable shower. I broke it clean off and water was gushing out of the pipe! I was not very popular with my husband that morning! Yikes!!!Oh yea, it never happens one at a time.  That would be too easy.  Always in 3's or more.  With me it is usually in 5's all at once.  It makes your head spin.
sending positive energy.  only good things for the rest of the year.:)At   times like this, when things are going wrong, car problems, etc., I try to remind myself that this will pass.  Seems to help.   Good luck.
