How are ganglia treated?

A ganglion can spontaneously rupture and go away. Other treatment options include removal of the ganglion fluid with a needle and syringe (aspiration) with or without an injection of cortisone medication. Occasionally, the entire ganglion is resected with surgery. People with a persisting or recurring ganglion should be evaluated for signs of systemic forms of arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis.

I have a cyst on the top of my wrist and on the inside of my wrist, curious if anyone else has this along with RA.

inflamedOnline2008-12-16 18:40:50I used to have one in my foot. I had one on me leg just below my knee once. The foot one selff cleared or busted but that was two years after appeared. The one in my knee. Well i had it surgically removed twice. The first surgery they underestamated the depth of the cyst. My leg is a little different. The cyst was huge and left a hole. Then i have thick scar tissue on my tendon.
This is odd. But i felt like i was taking Ibuprofin prior or during the cyst developement both times. So i do not take it any more. I so far have not had any ganglions scince. I do have two bakers cyst.
Met another woman with RA and we were wondering if it was an RA connection. There is a hereditary connection also i have been told.
I had one on the inside of wrist. I had it for about 2yrs.    I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but it disapeared a couple of months after being on Mtx.I have one on the top of my wrist.  Maybe the MTX has helped it, because it doesn't hurt anymore.  It was never visible to the naked eye.Interesting.
Mine get larger at times then reduce in size over time. Only to come back. I go to the ortho Thursday, I am going to ask him what he thinks.
got one!  on the thumbside of my left wrist... it's been there before -- many years ago --- and it is back again.I have one (I think) on my middle finger at the top. It's a hard little bump about the size of a pea. It doesn't hurt. It's been there for months maybe even a year.
