Thought I'd start this thread since we are about 10 days away from the new year.

As for me, I'm gonna try to lose some weight. The Sonoma diet is the flavor of the year for 2009 for me. Gotta shed some poundage and get in better shape.

Oh, and I think I'm gonna leave Lev and 6t5 alone for two months. What is the Sonoma diet?reegie, I just googled it:)

I'm with you Lori on the resolution to lose weight.  Are you going to do the Sonoma diet?

I'm going to check out some of the recipes and if it does not seem to difficult, I'm in Jas - I am a "Friends" dvd crabass.  I have every season and have watched them all many times (That 70's show, Seinfeld and Everybody Loves Raymond too!!)  It is kind of like my alone time, especially with the pain when I wake up.  I have two little boys that I can barely keep up with during the day but when they are so beautiful sleeping it makes me want to have a time out for myself, even though I should be sleeping.I never make them.
This tends to make me into a well-read crabass.
I sort of make them.. its more like a reflection of how I want to be and act.. but a continuation of my thoughts throughout the year.

1. I want to try harder to be less irritable with the kids regardless of the meds that cause it.. I am in control, not a honking big orange capsule.. IT doesn't scream at a little 3 year old boy, "I" do.

2. I want to follow FlyLady more closely. get into the routines every day, not just some days. I know how well the system works and how if I do follow it, how having a fatigue day doesnt ruin the whole house because its already tidy. I was real good with it  early last year.. I want to return to that.

3. I want to get better at paying bills on time. I am great with the cable co, since thats our phone and internet. (god forbid I dont have  yahoo lol) now I want to get  in the habit of paying bills when I get them. We have the $ to do it, I'm just too lazy to get off my dead ass and do it.

4. I want to take back my time for myself. I want to help the kids realize that I have the right to privacy when I bathe and use the potty, and I have the right to time by myself.

5. I want to get back the self control I had  to stop giving myself permission to scarf  down candy all the time. I went years not eating candy, suddenly my bedside  looks like a Fanny Farmer store.

Lose weight, back to slimming world in the new year. Clean out my cupboards....The sonoma diet looks like one that I can stick to longer than some of the others. Its focus is on healthy fats, lean meat, lots of veggies but you can still eat fruit and bread. There is another diet that I'm going to mix in and that is the Eat clean diet which focuses on 6 meals a day which is really the key to losing weight. You can get any of these books at Barnes and Noble or Borders (they seem to have a better variety. Now my husband has about 30 lbs to lose so it will be easier to do this as we both need to work on it. We have a membership at a private health club which is huge, has a pool, racket ball courts, gym, every machine known to man, a climbing wall and they also have the womens area where it is only women with a spa. We have been paying monthly for this for over 10 years and never use it (don't ask me why) so that is my other resolution, to get to the gym at least 3 times a week. It is 15 below right now so the thought of going out is dreadful. Hopefully it will start to warm up out there.
Not to shoot any of my doctors ?
Then maybe try not be such a mean ass to be around.  I'm starting to act like Jeff Dunham's puppet character Walter who my grandmother swears he came up with after talking to my grandfather.

Oh my gosh!  I LOVE Jeff Dunham.  He's my favorite comedian.  Peanut is hilarious.

As for resolutions, I'm like WTB.  I don't make any.  It's too depressing to make them and then fail every single year.
Actually, after Thursday I think my resolution will be to give up Chinese food.  Man did those eggrolls tear up the guts.  On the serious side (yes I have one) if I can find a doc that will help manage this darn RA I want to join a gym and get my health back.  I've gotten way too heavy, mostly from pred, but also from just not feeling up to doing much of anything.  I've also developed mild hypertension now, and am worried diabetes might be next if something isn't done asap.
So I guess try to get a little more fit and lose some poundage would be mine.

I use to say stop smoking.  But then I would always break it.  So I try to stick with the, be a better person and more patience and understanding when it comes to family.I'd like to lose some weight for my daughters wedding...so I'll be working very hard at that from January to May...then after the wedding... to hell with it..I'll eat what I want.
