Just wondering if anyone on the board is taking (or has taken) Kineret?  I haven't seen a lot of information on this drug.  From what I understand, it is an injection and given daily.  Thanks for any personal experience you might be able to share.Hi Sharo,  I know that Kineret has worked well for some of the kids on a parents of kids with JRA board that I am a member of.  It works well for Systemic JRA.  Do you have Still's Disease? Hopefully someone here will be able to help but just in case you want to do a search on the other board I will give you the link:)

I've had JRA since I was 9 and took Kineret when it first came out.  Didn't do much of anything for me except get me used to self injecting.  That's about it.  I was switched to Enbrel later on and it worked great for about 3 years then sort of just fizzled out on me.  From what I understand it's starting to get looked over by rheumatologists now.  At least that's the impression I got when I visited a new rheumatologist in Va a few weeks ago.  I mentioned it and he sort of laughed and made a comment about it not being very good.

I remember some people on this site back then getting quite a good bit of relief from it though so don't count it out it may work very well for you.  I also believe that, as of right now, it's the cheapest of all the biologics.

i used it after enbrel.  truly cannot tell you i had any good results with this drug.  sorry w.w.My Dr. said the site reactions were horrendous and that now Drs only use it if the other drugs fail. Thanks for your responses....this drug doesn't sound very appealing.  Bbkroo, I don't have Still's disease, not sure what it is.  Guess I'll stick with the Orencia for now....it agrees with me and seems to be doing the job.  I just can't seem get used to depending on someone else for my medication!  Guess I should just be greatful that its working.  Thanks again!
