I just found out this morning that I am pregnant with my third child.  My sons are 4 1/2 and 2 1/2, both were pre ra.  I am a little scared if anyone has any advice on pregnancy and ra I would appreciate it.  Thanks!Congratulations!!!  Thank you!Congratulations! What a wonderful time of year to get the news! I don't have any advice though as I didn't get RA until I was 47. congratulationsWOOHOO!  Congrats!

Be sure to share the joyful news with your rheumatologist and OBGYN soon, so that the three of you can come up with a plan to deal with any RA issues during this pregnancy.  And take it easy, but stay active!  Of course with two small kids in the house already, I'm sure you're plenty active. what a wonderful gift!!!...  Call your RD.. don't wait til next appointment.  He needs to know now.

I have had JRA/RA since 10... I had absolutely NO symptoms during pregnancy.... none.  Once I got over the initial fatigue of the first trimester, I felt great!!!   I also did not have pain/discomfort/flares  til after I stopped nursing.. which I did anywhere from 6 weeks to four months ...  IDK if these are just my luck.. but I wish the same or better for you, reegie.

Congratulations, Reegie!Thank you everyone and please have a wondeful and safe Christmas!!This is so exciting!  Another September baby on the way.

CONGRATULATIONS, REEGIE!!!  Great news!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Keep us updated. I guess you will be able to tell us how RA and pregnacy works.
I was diagnosed with RA as a teen.  I had a very rough pregnancy due to divorce so I never experienced the remission with RA.  But-doc said I was a worse case situation and the symptoms were still managable.  I did end up taking prednisone for the majority of the pregnancy.  I also made the choice to bottle feed so I could start RA meds from day one.  Mainly because it would just be the two of us.  Most people tend to have symptoms return a few weeks after giving birth.  Talk with your OB and RD.  My RD wanted me in after a month of giving birth.  Earlier if I had had issues.

So-most people feel almost as good as Pre-RA during pregnancy.  Definitely talk to both your RD and OB regarding meds.

This is so exciting...
Congratulations, Reegie!!!

I am so happy for you and your family!

I felt great during my pregnancy too!  I sure hope you do:)

Merry Christmas!
Thanks everyone, I will update you on  how I am doing.  I don't feel any different yet, just that 1st trimester pregnancy fatigue and bloating.  I am med free for now so we will see how that goes.  Merry Christmas to everyone!!good luck!!!!
