For a little history, I was diagnosed with PA a little over a year ago. I have had it for a few years longer than that. I also have MRSA staph infections. I was most recently treated with Humira and Feldene.
I recently had a "bad week" in which I got the flu, broke my ankle, and got dual ear infections. My ears were swelled and filled with fluid for 8 weeks after this. I was treated with 5 rounds of anti-biotics and prednisone for my ears.
Ever since "bad week" I have had neck, ear, and jaw pain along with ear ringing. I'm not sure if the fall after my ankle break is the genesis of this pain or not. The pain grows and grows all day until I am basically incapacitated at the end of the day. I have been taken off of Humira now due to the ear infections and staph.
Has anyone experienced neck and jaw pain due to PA?
The ear problems are the worst. My ears are noisy and hurt all the time now. I was given a steroid injection yesterday, which didn't really help much.
My jaw pain is mainly soreness that increases as the day goes on. It does hurt some when I chew. It popped really loud a few days ago and made a "sandy" sound for a while.
Might want to check into "TMJ" temporal mandipular joint and see if any of the symptoms match yours. I have had it in the past so I have some experience with it. Could be that it is just inflamed right now and could resolve on its own. I know that when I had jaw pain it did radiate into my ears but the jaw was my primary issue. If you are planning on going back on humira maybe it will clear it up your ear and jaw pain. Take care and feel better soon!
I've been sick ever since I originally started Humira about four months ago. It helped with my arthritis a lot, but I have had probably a dozen or more infections since then. I'm not sure if I will try it again or not.
My left ear, which has more psoriasis on it than my left, is really hurting now. It feels like an outer ear infection. I've read that infections sometimes trigger psoriasis to get worse.
Thanks for replying. I'll probably see my GP Monday.
