How can I fix the Low Iron problem | Arthritis Information

I have low Iron which is causing me to be anemic.  Being from the Pacific NW does not help either.  I was told to take one teaspoon of Organic black strap molasses.  Anyone tried it?  I am really tired of being cold I want to try and fix this problem if I can.  I know I have RA and that is not going away but just maybe I could get this Iron issue under control.  I'm cold at work I have a heater under my desk.  I'm cold at home.  The only time I am not cold is when I am in a state that is hot, like calfornia and Texas or Georgia just to name a few.  I need some help can anyone out there give me a healthy remedy.

I believe you can get Iron pills from your physician.
liver is full of iron........but I would if I had to eat it...but that is just me.

Also spinach is a good source. Best wishes and I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Ladybug, if its not too hard for you, get to your Dr and ask them to do a full Iron series as I was like you and they found no iron and practically no iron stores in the bone marrow, after an endoscopy and a camera being swallowed and taking lots of pictures, the specialist said I cannot absorb iron the usual way so now I have to have iron infusions, hope its not this drastic but you need to know, best of luck from Janie.

I was on prescription iron for a while.  If you ever get on it, try different brands if one upsets your stomach.  I am still borderline anemic, but my RD took me off it recent (his nurse said he wouldn't refill) and I'm not sure why.  I totally forgot that anemia can make you cold.  I am cold so much but was thinking it was thyroid and/or raynauds, but I guess that can add to it as well.  I too am always cold at home, we keep the thermostat at 72 but I am wearing a coat right now.  And at work I would be useless without my space heater.  So it could be your thyroid too?

Green leafy veggies!  Easier said than eaten.  :)

I am on Iron tablets as i have chronic aneamia my iron levels are 3 and they need to be above10. I also take a supplement called spatone and thats good too.
