Happy New Year All!

Just got done  cleaning up from my dinner. All went well. I was relieved to have my 20 year old son come home at noon seeming no worse for the wear and heard from my 24 year old daughter. I get so nervous about them when they are out and about New Years Eve. Have a 16 year old who will cause me worries for the next couple of years. Kept him at bay with me last night- he in his tacky Walmart Top Hat and me in a Tiara from the same LOL. I allowed him a glass of champagne with me at midnight. Poor Dick Clark. Does anyone feel like me and think he should just fade away?  Maybe I'm wrong. I guess he is a people person and despite his short comings he still wants to be in the limelight.
Anyway the Prime Rib was superb per my husband. I made potato pancakes- Inflamed -recipe is : Grate 4 large potatoes, grate 1 onion. 1/2 cup  flour,  1/4 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 Tbs. salt,  2 eggs.  Fry in shortening. Made the green &  yellow beans with carmelized shallots. i was the only one that ate them. Also made Pillsbury garlic bread sticks. Made horseradish spread by whipping up heavy cream with horseradish and chives in the food processesor. Yummy. Bought a Melt Away Butttercream Danish for dessert.
I have to say- I'm pretty tired now. So glad I have off from work tomorrow.

Wanna,

The whole dinner sounds delish....thanks for the recipe! I copied and pasted, will try it this weekend.

I made a pork roast & sour Kraut with sliced apples in the kraut , Yukon gold smashed taters and salad and corn, rolls, it was easy and so very good. I have a clay pot I have had for years, even though I love my crock pots , I like to use the clay pot when I am home and save the crock pots for when I am at the office. I soak the clay pot in water for 1/2 hour and then bake my meal, it makes everything so moist.

Glad you are off work tomorrow, I go in on Friday, but them I am off until Tues. I plan to take down Christmas decorations this weekend. Hope everyone had a Good Day!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE ON THE FORUM.

WTBRAF, Your dinner sounds wonderful.  We had leek and potato soup that I made earlier in the day.  We went to dinner with a large group of friends last night and sat on the veranda 30 feet from the surf.  Took a taxi home and went dancing by the pool.  They had decorated the pool with hundreds, maybe thousands of black and white balloons.  There were a lot of Mexican families celebrating and the latin dancing was great.  I even got a couple of lessons.  We had a wonderful New Years.

I used to worry about my son but you know he came through those years in good shape despite my worrying!!  Take care and enjoy the weekend.  Lindy
Wantto!!!  Sounds like you had a great ring in of the new year!!!  Happiest and healthiest wishes to you!!

Sounds like you all had a blast! I would have LOVED to have danced the night away poolside drinking sangria or margaritas. I was so tempted to pick up a bottle of bubbly, but I knew we weren't going to be awake for it. Guess we could have celebrated using the east coast time zone. hehe

Happy New Year to you all! I hope all your goals are achieved quickly and great things come to you. *hugs all around*

Snow, I love the smell of woodsmoke, not as much as I love the ocean smell but close.  I can't handle the cold weather so this is the alternative for us.  Lindy
