I am having osteo arthritis of the left knee.Is it curable?

No it's not cureable. OA is caused by years of wear and tear...unfortunately for you as well as myself there is no turing back.

You can always have a knee replacement when it gets bad.

What can I do for Arthritis?

1. If it sounds too good to be true, then it is. Avoid falling prey to other peoples get rich schemes.

2. See your physician and discuss a treatment plan.

There is no cure for Arthritis. There is only treatment.

I disagree that osteoarthritis is due to wear and tear. It no doubt can be but in my case I first began to have symptoms in my early thirties and I have never done anything to cause my joints to wear out having worked in a sedentary job and not doing any form of manual work or sports etc that would cause my joints to wear out.

On looking back I have come to realise that even in my early twenties I was showing the first signs of osteoarthritis as after a long trip driving my car my lower back would ache like hell (I now have osteoarthritis in the lower back as well as both hips, feet, hands and neck). I have no doubt that it is a disease probably with a genetic component and maybe the rich western diet playing a contributory part.

dragon38715.7015046296If there was a cure for arthritis then I am sure all of the millions of people with it would not be on this forum or any other and they would be out in the world leading productive pain free lives. There is only treatment. You can reduce the effects of the disease, but you cannot cure it.

There is no cure for Arthritis. There is only treatment.
This is somewhat negative thinking.

Some forms of Arthritis CAN be cured.  It is not a true "cure" since it is basically remission and could come back at any time.  I think a lot of Arthritis sufferers will do better if we all try and build eachother up and speak positively.  Statements like this, are what makes me have a flare.  My RA is effected by my mental health just as much as my physical health.  I have the RA marker in my genetics, but the actual symptoms could go into remission at any time.
Read what you wrote in the second sentence. There is no cure. There is only treatment.
There is no cure for Arthritis. There is only treatment.
