And my ankle gives out and it snapped and it is trashed...swollen and changed a lovely deep red, black....I am at my office.. The added bonus is now my knees are killing me..I had just had injections put in a few weeks ago, I feel like my twist of the ankle..( it was crunchy, gross) aggravated my knees , lucky me. Venting...

I still look really cute today though

Lisa
do you think it needs looking at??  a snap would concern me a little bit...GOod luck.
Babs,
I have trashed this ankle so many times. I can put weight on it. I do not want to start the new year off paying my deductable all over again
If it doesn't seem better, I will call my doc. He has a xray machine...way cheaper than Emergency room.

Thanks Jan...you are a very sweet spirited person. Wanted to let you know that.
inflamedOnline2009-01-02 14:20:15Oh man I know exactly how you feel.

I manage to do that at least once a year. Last summer I ended up in an ambulance with the guys telling the ER "We have visible break of ankle.." nope.. just yet another  trashed sprained ankle..

Go to your Doc, get an xray.. and do the usual.. RICE.   ouchie.
Did this happen....before....or after the PM?    Lorster, stop being a ASS.
this happened a couple hours ago. Yes I wrote you a colorful PM so what...don't have a BM over it. Stop trying to provoke me. I have other things to consider and you are not one.

LOL, I've had plenty of examples presented to me here.

However IO, I am sorry this happened to you.   I twisted my R ankle in 1997. The swelling never went down. Four months later, I twisted it again, and broke it. The pain from the twist was much worse than the break. Keep it elevated and iced. Ibuprofen and pain meds.

You can now come back with a nasty comment to me if you want, but I am sincere with the last statement. IO, I am sorry to hear that. I am somewhat familiar with the feeling. When I was in college playing ball, I spent and entire year injuring and re-injuring my right ankle. I kept haveing to have the football coach tape my ankle up in what he called a footbal wrap. It's like a cast made out of tape and pre-wrap. I played all year on it like that. I'd want to cry after the games it hurt so bad... Then like an idiot I'd do it again a few days later...

I'm glad you look cute... That's something I noticed about women when I coached Varsity Women's Soccer. They'd always be worried about looking cute even on the way to the hospital for xrays... That's something guys don't do. We could care less. if it hurts nothing else is important. Heh...

Actually I looked up ASS in the dictionary and it said See Lorster
My right ankle has always given me problems. I broke it twice while playing women's rugby. It never really healed right and still "rolls" to this day.

If it is still giving you problems, get it looked at. It is easy to chip a bone and not realize it. Also, a bad sprain is worse than a break. Hope it feels better!!!That sucks!  What a way to start the new year.
I hope you didn't break it but hey you said it best..at least you still looked cute today.  I'm only cute at night, when it's really dark.  Then I'm Mr.Universe

Bob

Thanks Guys,

It is a lovely shade this AM, I have iced, and ibuprofen, I can walk on it. It bothered me last night in bed, you know when you toss and turn the foot would throb. I have done this SO many time, I could make it a career.

Lisa

Hope it's getting better today! I broke it when I was in 5th grade. I was square dancing for gym class, and actually my partner and I were standing still, because we'd screwed up  some steps, and another square  came around at us and I ducked and SNAP!! OMG   sadly it was in a school with no nurse and a particularly sadistic nun  as my teacher. They refused to call my mom.. I didnt get medical attention for several hours.

thats the ankle that I sprain every year.
