Ankles the same....I bowl from the couch

I am walking on it though. I have always walked through a ankle turn. Not fun but can do.

Thanks for asking

Bowling from the couch and beating hubby...........lol........................Good Day!

My sister and girlfriends are stopping by this evening...we will Wii into the Wii hours.

I have left over Champagne....little sugar cube, little bitters....bubbly!

Husband lost...he has to go to Wal Mart at midnight!!!!!!!
I don't have any computer games but my neighbours do. We live in timber homes, they're in their early twenties and must have a wii because they squeel, thump about and sing until daylight (I suspect stimulants are involved). Not something I can call the cops about ("my neighbours are playing with their wii again!") but it gives me some sleepless nights. Santa brought the kids a Wii at our house. We've enjoyed playing. I enjoy the tennis. We've looked for the Wii fit since Christmas and can't find it yet. My daughter and I are looking forward to getting that too. Love the Wii. I have the Wii fit and it is alot of fun. My son got Mario Kart from santa. It is addictive. I find myself playing Guitar Hero for waayyyy toooo looonng.I know a respiratory therapist that uses Wii bowling and Wii Fit for patient rehabilitation. She said one woman was an avid bowler -- and couldn't bowl anymore, but the Wii made her feel like she could -- and gets good exercise with it, too!My son brought his Wii with him from TX and we're hooked!! We had friends over the other night and, I am proud to say, the girls kick some major butt!! Yay!! My son and I were "curling" - man, that game is DUMB! haha  I did notice that I can't play it often though. It really hurts my wrists and shoulders. It's fun to watch though, so it's all good.
Glad you're having such a blast. Let us know how that Wii fit works for ya!

Multi tasker!....plus hubby is easy pickens....lol
hmmmm do they have Wii- barely moving exercise program? That's about where I need to start.... lol, like I said...I can play from the couch...better if you get up...but hey it's a start I say!
hmmmm do they have Wii- barely moving exercise program? That's about where I need to start....
The other day I unlocked the "meditation" game on the Wii Fit, where you have to sit as still as possible. Some of the balancing games you don't move too much.
This sounds promising...my GP actually recommended it to me after my physical. How much would you say it costs to get started? 9.00 at Wally World. I have to pick one up tonite for my sis...She is hooked!...lol
Shall I get you one?...lol

It's really crazy, the store has it but can not or will not sell it until Sunday....so I go at midnight....sigh...I'll make it an adventure...or more like a quest!

I am nervous about what my Wii is going to look like...I picture this rolly polly wii character, all puffed up, stuffing twinkies its mouth....

Maybe when it weighs me I will say I am 7' tall!
inflamedOnline2009-01-03 19:53:17A while back, there was an article in the Chicago Tribune about a local retirement home that was using a Wii system to get its residents up and moving.  I wonder if they've since added the Wii Fit?

Wii bowling knocks over retirement home

By Dave Wischnowsky |Tribune staff reporter
7:35 PM CST, February 16, 2007

At the Sedgebrook retirement community in Lincolnshire, where the average age is 77, something unexpected has been transpiring since Christmas. The residents, most of whom have never picked up a video game controller in their life, suddenly can't put the things down.

"I've never been into video games," said 72-year-old Flora Dierbach last week as her husband took a twirl with the Nintendo Wii's bowling game. "But this is addictive."

Dierbach said residents love the Wii set up in the clubhouse lounge.

"They come in after dinner and play," she said. "Sometimes, on Saturday afternoons, their grandkids come play with them.

"A lot of grandparents are being taught by their grandkids. But, now, some grandparents are instead teaching their grandkids."

The Wii has become so popular at Sedgebrook that on Sunday afternoon there will be a video game bowling tournament in the lounge. More than 20 residents have signed up to compete.

"We'll even have a fan for people to dry their hands before they bowl," said Dierbach, head of Sedgebrook's entertainment committee.

If the retirees in Lincolnshire are any proof, video games are no longer just kids' play.

And that's the whole idea, said Beth Llewelyn, Nintendo's senior director of corporate communications.

"We certainly appreciate our 'core' gamers and will continue to supply them with games," Llewelyn said.

"But the question is, how do you build a bigger audience?"

With an easy-to-use wireless controller that translates a player's motions onto the screen, Nintendo believes it has found the answer with the Wii.

"People have no fear of picking up a remote control, but they're hesitant to pick up a video game controller," Llewelyn said. "So the idea was to make the controller look like a remote control with just a couple of buttons."

Since the Wii hit stores in November, more than 1 million consoles have been sold in the United States, Llewelyn said. The reaction to the system by seniors has been a pleasant surprise.

On Sunday, Don Hahn, 76, a veteran of numerous real-life bowling competitions, will compete for the first time in a virtual one.

"This is pretty realistic. You can even put English on the ball," Hahn said after connecting on a strike with the Wii. "I used to play Pac-Man a little bit, but with this you're actually moving around and doing something.

"You're not just sitting there pushing buttons and getting carpal tunnel."

O.K.  I'm jealous.  I want one too!  Now, if I can just talk the hubby into wanting one.Me too, very hard to find right now. Selling out. My friend just emailed and told me Walmart had them today but are gone already. Kids have PS2 rock band. We have fun with that. I get to sing and it's all my kind of music. (What they call classic rock now) LOL!Ok..it is 11:00 PM...getting ready to go with hubby to Wally world...
Wish me luck..I need one Wii fit (for me) and one Wii game console for my sister..

I'll let you all know if I score........

I'll SHALL return..................Victorious....been trying to get one of these since before Christmas.

GOOD LUCK!

SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Believe we had to wait in a line!!!

Wally World had 18....There were 6 people in front of us...we were Lucky seven!(and also last in line)..lol

I hated going out at night, but I always missed them at the stores, not this time!. HA!

Got my Wii fit AND my sisters Wii console....Now I am all wide awake and stuff...I'll hang out until I tire. I don't want to hook it up tonight. I am a sort of "afraid" what my Wii character will morph into when I put my height in and it weighs me...ughh. No pain no gain.

Lisa, you need all the working out you can get with your, what did you say...size 14, body!!!

Can't wait to hear how you like it. How much is it? I tried to find it for my daughter's birthday....Jan 1, but couldn't find it anywhere. I might go ahead and get it now anyway if I can find it.

I figured out that you don't have to move that much to actually play most of the games. I was playing tennis like I was at a real match and getting so tired and my knees were on the brink of giving out. My daughter said "Mom, watch....you barely have to move. You don't have to do it like you're doing it." It was true. You could just move your hand around and it worked fine.....but it wasn't as much fun. lol
Lovie,
I think I am going to like it. I was able to do a few things on it. I have this darn "twisted" ankle that doesn't feel strong enough...I had to laugh..it made my Wii age 60 years old.

I know my balance is off with this ankle so I am sure I can improve, my lower back hurts a lot so I am sure balance is off. I really like it though, I clocked 30 minutes on it this morning..so I feel like I have done ok..
Oh...one more thing...I said I was a SIZE 4........just with a 1 in front!IO, size 14, lmao!!!
so glad I'm skinny!!!
How much did you have to pay for it at Wal-Mart? If you don't mind me asking?
$ 89.00
I seen it in the Toys r Us catalog for same price and they give you a free towel!

Cindee, the console is 9.00.

It comes with a controller, and a cd that has a bunch of popular games, bowling, golf, boxing, tennis, I like playing all of them. You would not need to buy anything else. The only suggestion I would have is to purchase a little fan attachment that hooks on the back to keep the unit cool so it won't over heat. I hope you decide to get one. It is great fun. I call it my "winter" sports....Well, I saw them in the newspaper for 0.00! Talk about a mark up! My daughter has a birthday coming up this month on the 27th...so.....????? Maybe if I can get one, I will.

I don't want to go at midnight like you did IO. LOL I'm not that dedicated, though I am up late....?????
Have fun with yours!
I would say the one you saw for 0.00 was a bundle.
In other words it was the console with extra controllers and extra games and such.
No, this was in the classified. Someone was trying to re-sale one for a big profit. There were two ads for Wii's.That's likely true. They saw they were sold out around CHristmas and they were trying to cash in on that. My husband and I tried everywhere last year and couldn't get one. This year he got one early when he say they had one. I saw them lots of places though during CHristmas.

isn't too bad. That has the board that you balance on; right? My husband gave me some money for my birthday and I think I'll get that for my daughter and I to do together. The other games are fun....but I think the fit thing I'd enjoy more. We'll see.

I enjoy the DS games I can play in my bed while watching TV. Last year I was into animal crossing and this year I got Harvest Moon and although I don't really understand it all I'm enjoying that. I can lay still when my back hurts and enjoy that. lol
I like the DS too for when i cant sleep..I play more brain training..i have got past the levels and have a bonus game of germ buster which i enjoy. I also have deal or no deal and super mario.Wii bowling is a LOT of fun.
IO, size 14, lmao!!!
so glad I'm skinny!!!
Damn... you pickin' on someone that is a size 14? I guess to you I am a beached whale? I am a size 18. Yeah very depressing, for my anyways. But I guess it should not be, because everytime I go to buy pants, I cannot find any in my size. Which means there are a lot of short, beached whales running around.

On another Note:

Ok.... ya'll Wii'er's watch out for the dreaded Wii-itis! I read about it, and well... it sounds like you get from playing too much Wii. So, maybe change up the games a little?

My SIL daughter she is only 5 and she kicks ass at bowling. No one will play with her because she can get 5 strikes in a row. I have converted many video game haters to lovers with my Wii.
joonie, how you been? I hope you had a good Holiday.
I agree with the Wii wrist, try switching hands on and off, I actually do good with both, Oh and it is a well known fact, if you want to learn how to play, or get your butt beat grab a kid, there all naturals.
