A WART??? Ugh!!!!!!!!! | Arthritis Information

Over the past few weeks, I have developed an ugly WART on top of my right hand - gross.  In my 56 years on this sweet earth, this is the very first time I have ever had one.  Having been on Orencia for almost a year now, I imagine my immune system is pretty suppressed - could that be the reason I now have my very first wart?  (I'm using OTC Compound W - has anyone else ever used this product?  Is there anything OTC that might work faster?  3 months is a loooong time!)  Thanks for reading and have a wonderful New Year!!

Dogmom

my youngest had warts.

use the stuff.. leave it on as says for what?, 48 hours between changing?  conver w/ bandaid to keep on.. and buff w/ a fingernail brush between .

good luck, dogmom!!!
If it's bothering you - for instance, getting inflamed from rubbing on gloves, cuffs, etc, getting banged or irritated while doing chores, etc you can go have it quickly frozen off at the doc's office.  Otherwise, the Compound W should work its magic soon enough.  Just be careful not to get it on other skin - it's highly concentrated salicylic acid and it can burn the bejeezus out of normal skin. They also have a product called a wart stick. I found it at CVS. It worked well and it was a lot less messy. It is almost like a tube of Chap stick just thicker.
It's just a wart. I get any warts (a lifetime total of 2 so far) burned off with dry ice at the doctors office. It takes about 5 seconds.

 orrrrr... detox it..

lmao..

seriously they have discovered that covering warts with duct tape helps them fall off in the same amount of time as using  harsher substances .. I recently "removed " a plantar wart from my kidlet by covering it with duct tape, held on with clear surgical tape. it took about 6 weeks but one day the whole nasty thing  fell out.
I developed one too!  Had one when I was a kid.  It was burned off.  Grew back--removed again.  Then gone.  I was very surprised I got one now.

We used compound W on my son on the advice of a dermatologist. Was the first thing she wanted us to try.  Didn't work. She eventually had to burn it off. That worked.  I've read about the duct tape method in the newspaper. It has worked for quite a few people. You can't give a wart to someone else but you can spread them on your own body.  If it's on your hand make sure you don't sleep at night with it against your face repeatedly.  My sister suffered from warts when she was younger.  Started out with one on a finger and ended up with about 30 of them. From constantly touching other parts of her body.  Had them on her fingers, arms, knees, chin and even her nose.  I remember my mom taking her back and forth to the dermatologist to have them burnt off. Eventually thankfully they all went away.
