Isnt it wonderful how a Dr will tell you whats wrong but then wont finish the story? As you sit there with your mouth open he says, " Come back in 3 months" .

There is a lot to learn about RA. There are a lot of people here that can help you and are a wealth of information. Welcome.....

Lesle

You are so right Lesle. The majority of what I know I learned on my own. I've had great doctors that I like alot....but they rarely have time to educate you on everyting you should know.

I've found sites like theses not only comforting but educational as well. First hand experience from your friends here will become so valuable to you.

Hello.  I have RA and pretty much every one of my joints is effected.  My R wrist, elbow, knee..... my hips... and my left ankle is what is effected the most.  The meds I am on are in my signature, but the meds that I haved weaned off of or are almost weaned off of are prednisone and relafen.

I hope things start looking better for you.

Hello All,

I am new to the site and would enjoy getting to know everyone. I am a female, married, and live in Oklahoma. Last March I had such pain in my feet and ankles, some mornings I could hardly get around.I made an appointment with my doctor, he took a blood test and within 3 days called me back in, I was told I have R.A., he's a really good doctor, but told me very little about it or what to expect as the years pass. I am thankful for such a site where I can talk to others who have the same problem and to get valuable information on R.A. again looking forward to chating with some of you.

Welcome Joyce.

Reintroduce yourself under the RA section of the boards....we have a big group here and we'll be thrilled for you to join us.

Welcome again.

Sounds like your doctor is uninformed about RA or any other type of arth. He prob feels insecure about something he dooesnt know too much about. Id ask him to refer you to an RA specialist. Those are the docs that can determine what kind of arth you have. You may have developed another kind over the years. You can have more than one kind. Ive had RA and Osteo for over 35 years. Got mine when I was around 21. Not a pleasant disease to deal with. That is my suggestion. hi im new to forums but not new to arthritis had a hip replaced three years ago went well but now i have it in both my big toes both ankles lower back neck right shoulder right wrist right index finger my hip was due to a fracture 25 years earlier im only middle aged can hardly move sometimes only thing im taking is tramadol which knocks me out my doctor is more interested in my blood pressure when i go any suggestions apart from change my doctorWelcome BooBoo...glad you're here.
