I have given up dairy entirely. Just way too many problems. Headaches are gone since not consuming any. Also, my GI system is back to normal. But I miss my Ben and Jerrys. Is there anything out there non dairy that tastes anything like Phish Food or Chubby Hubby? Anything? I'm depressed.Lorster, I have taken diary out of my diet too, I have been suffering with GI problems, had an endoscopy with nothing showing, had a scan to see if it was gall bladder problems and it wasnt s started to process of emlination. Since going lactose free, i have been so much better. I am on the search for lactose free items and will let you know what I can findI know what you mean about dairy.  When I was at my sister's house for a week and a half, I ate so much ice cream, cheese, foods with cream sauces (she's not known for healthy cooking I have been trying to search the internet on reviews of the soy ice creams and the rice milks so that I don't waste a huge amount of money on them because these products are very expensive. The reviews are not that favorable so I'm hoping that someone here has found a product that tastes very good. Even sherbet has milk in it i'm finding.   I didn't think of the italian ice though. That is a thought. My daughter has been fine with the soy ice cream I've found.  We've got some Trader Joe's right now, but I've picked up other stuff at the grocery store, too.  She says she can tell a difference, but it doesn't matter because it still tastes so good.

One other difference is that she used to love reg. chocolate ice cream, but so far prefers to add chocolate syrup to the vanilla soy stuff.  (That was a nice surprise - no dairy in chocolate syrup!  So much choc. stuff is milk chocolate.)
Another idea - Philly Swirl products are awesome, and are dairy-gluten-peanut free.  They are the safest thing to donate to school parties!  They are based on Italian Ice, but are just...way cooler LOL.
