Sometimes they are just afraid or unable to admit when they're wrong.  They have too much tied up in being "right."

I hope so too, but I wouldn't count on it Thanks for the article Lynn.  I found it relates to my relationship with my sister, she is a "right fighter."  We tend to bicker a lot.

A friend of mine went to a marriage counselor and that is the FIRST thing they stressed when they met w/ the counselor.. to validate by repeating back exactly what the spouse said... to show that you actually listened... and do it nodding to verify acceptance of the value of the the statement......not the words themselves nor the meaning itself.. but the opinion.......

all relationships are the same.. marriage, friendship, family, etc.. all deserve the respect of acknowledging worth........  agreed.
I read it, life's full of lessons, it's all about learning and growing.   Good article Lynn, thank you.
Thank you Lynn the article was a good one!  Our time here is short, and it is all about growing.  I can tell you that after my recent health scare, things that seemed to be such a big deal before, don't amount to squat now!... Heh...Gosh Jose...I was thinking the same thing.  I guess we just have to grin and bear it!!Whether right or wrong, there is always a small lesson to be learnt.
Gosh, I just noticed these were old posts. Very good article, Lynn.

And it's true - too many people have underlying issues that make it imperative for them to be right all the time. The trick is to recognize that you'll never win with these people, so best just to back off and let them struggle with it.
