feeling really bad | Arthritis Information

For the last couple of days I have been feeling extremely bad. I have no pain, just the feeling of sickness. Does anyone else feel this way at times? I hate saying this, but the way I am feeling I have been thinking my ra has gotten bad and I am going to continue on this way. I dont know what is worse the pain or the sickness. Anyone out there with some hope? My family is so tired of hearing of me complain.

You could be having a flare. You should let your physician know whats going on. He might be able to prescribe something to get you through it. Best of luck.

You could also just plain be sick. having RA doesn't mean we can't also get flu, bad colds, sinusitus etc.. Sometimes I think we blame everything on RA when  it might be something else. Treat yourself well, if you don't feel better soon see the dr.

I agree with Kathy 100%. Any fever? I'm not sure what medication you're on Cynthia but I have to make sure I don't have any kind of infection due to Humira and MTX. Of coarse there are those times when I just don't feel well.

And as far as your family getting tired of your complaints....you should make sure they know you're just as tired of complaining as they are of hearing it.

I personally rarely complain....but my family has been dealing with me and this illness long enough to read the signs. They know when I'm not feeling well before I even mention it.

Good advice everyone, thank you...however I dont have a fever and the only medication I am taking is Enbrel and the occasional Darvocet. I have been depressed and the anxiety is a kicker, started  Lexapro this morning, samples my dr gave me.

I take Humira and my GP feels like it mask a fever in my case. I NEVER run a fever and I have been really ill on several occations.

Enbrel is simular.

I have been in a RA flare for the last 7 days and I know the days before that, I felt similar to what you are feeling, not feeling terribly bad but not feeling good either, so it could be a flare that is about to hit you.  If it is, I hope it is a mild one.

It could be the Enbrel...I know Enbel has some side effects that you are mentioning.

Not everything that happens to us is RA related or because of the medications we take.  Remember.  RA patients have learned to live with so much pain that our pain tolerance levels sometimes can mask some serious problems.  It's always better to be safe that sorry.  If you start feeling worse, please see your doctor ASAP...

I hope you start feeling better real soon...

Ivypoe,

Hope you are feeling better by now. When I have a flare, I try to sleep it off. I dress really warm and bundle up and sleep for several hours. This seems to help me feel much better. I am wondering did you eat something new. I sometimes react to certain foods. I usually run a slight fever. This doesn't sound that this is the case with you.
I'd definitely tell your doctor and see what can be done for you. Sorry, your family is not more supportive. If only they can spend one hour in our shoes, they will know what we are going through. Hope in time, they will understand.
Best of luck to you and all of us!hatehavingra38685.1758333333

Sometimes I get nauseated for no reason.  It lasts for several days.  It's not the meds.  I don't know why.  But I went on Lexapro last year and it was a god send for me!  Hope it works as well for you!

Susan

Thank you, everyone. I am starting to feel some what better, yet still feeling nauseated. I started thinking this morning, I started feeling this way back when I changed over to the pre - filled enbrel. I can not see why it would make a difference.

Hi Ivypoe.

You said you started to feel bad when you went back to the pre-filled Enbrel?   Maybe it's the preservatives they use in the 50 mg refilled syringes...Nauseia is one of the side effects from using Enbrel.

Glad to hear you are starting to feel a bit better...
