I went to see 7 lbs and Doubt.  I enjoyed both movies.  I think I may go see Milk next.

Anyone else?
Rented Eagle Eye......Good action and storyI don't go to the movie theatre very often... RLS won't let me sit comfortably... and AI hearing loss makes it hard to hear.......  BUT I was just told a couple of weeks ago that theatres are supposed to have head sets for h earing impaired..  have not yet checked that out.. but will.. and I can sit through a movie earlier in the day when the RLS is not bad....well, must admit, in order to go to the movies I usually have to take a vicodin..........but I enjoy going and it's my goal this year to try and do the things I like to do, and not let
RA get in my way.........

I just sent that back to Netflix.  I liked it too.  I love action movies.

I saw Eagle Eye too...good flick.  Guess no one has seen Milk?DH and I saw The Curious Life of Benjamin Button recently, we both thought it was very good. I thought Brad Pitt was excellent, I don't usually like his movies.I loved Marley and Me.  I also like Twlight.Get Smart was a good one, watched it last weekend.

Right now... I am not much into watching movies. I am obsessed with the show Supernatural. So... obsessed I am been watching it on the internet starting from the 1st season. I am up to the 3rd season. I cannot watch it without hubby, so I have to wait to watch it when he gets home from work. And the last couple of nights I have been asleep way before 7pm and sleeping all night. So... maybe tonight I will get to watch a few episodes with him.

My son likes the movie Space Chimps.

We have been renting the DVDs for a /night from a machine out in front of wal-mart called Redbox. www.redbox.com You can reseve a copy of the movie online and go pick it up at the redbox nearest you.
Get Smart was a good one, watched it last weekend.

Hubby got me to watching it over the Christmas weeks he was off. He had season 1 on DVD that he bought when the series first came on. And he was watching the show religiously until season 3. Then he kept forgetting about what time it came on and all. I never watched it until a couple of weeks ago. I did not want to watch it because I kinda get spooked easily, and that show is all about ghosts and evil things and I have already seen enough ghosts in my lifetime to suit me just fine if I never see another one again LOL!!

But I have been watching it. I just try not to think about the shows too much after I have watched them. I just think about what a cutie Dean is. I have Dean as my background on my laptop. The last movie I saw in the theatre was "Burn After Reading". Yeah, it wasn't as amazing as most other Coen Brother movies, but it was still better than 95% of the other movies I've ever seen.

I watched "In Bruges" on DVD and that was good, too.Return if the Pink Panther on TV.  LOVE PETER SELLARS.  So funny.

New Pink Panther movie out with Steve Martin.
Another good one was Three Amigos!!!The spiderwick chronicles, fantastic for adults and kids, brilliant!  Janie.  The Women with Meg Ryan and Annette Bening, really funny, Bening stole the show!
I guess I'll try Benjamin Button....I thought it might not be good, but i'll give it a whirl. Thanks.Marley and Me, Four Christmases, and Valkyrie.  All three were pretty good, but Marley and Me was the best.  I would like to see Gran Torino and The Unborn.  (might see the latter tomorrow)  I love scary movies and this sucker looks pretty creepy
I saw Benjamin Button last night. I don't get to watch movies much (i generally get stuck see family fare with my kids) but I REALLY was looking forward to this. I was rather disappointed. Perhaps I knew too much about it going in. I would give it a 6.5 on a scale of 10. A 2nd film I did see over the holidays was The Visitor and thought it was one of the best movies I'd seen in a long while.Hey Bob, I saw 4 Christmas' too.  I liked it.  I want to see Marley and Me, however I'm not sure I can handle the ending in public, lol.  I've heard mixed reviews on the flick, glad to hear you liked it.

Grand Tarino is on my list to see too....looks good.
Marley & Me was a very good movie, and yes a tear jerker... but atleast you know everyone is tearing up. my hubby even did!!! Grand Tarina is something we want to see also. love Clint Eastwood...I agree with Gimpy - In Bruges is very good. Low key, subtle development that is so effective. I rented it to get a good look at the city and it is excellent for that purpose also.

We are really into 'Sleeper Cell' which is a Showtime series. Also absorbing. We are into season 2 and loving it. On the other end of the spectrum, we are also into The Tudors.

We tried to see 'Doubt' on Christmas Day but got locked out. Saw 'Seven Pounds' as a 'we might as well see something now that we are here'. I know someone else on this thread liked it but I found it way too drawn out. Like watching grass grow although the story concept was interesting.

I haven't been to see a movie in years.  Never really been into the whole communal viewing experience. The last movie I saw in the theater was "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and I was disappointed.  I love action movies with good special effects, but I came out of the movie feeling like I had just seen the trailer again, only it was longer.I loved The Women too.. and second that Benning made the flick!

Going to see Gran Torino tonight w/ my DH, brother and SIL......  I've heard it is EX-cellent!!  going to check on the head phones ..as it will make my experience so much better!!

Hey Babs, let us know what you think about it!

7lbs I thought was a good story, good movie, but yes, I totally agree that it was slow.
I just love Will Smith and thought he was great in the movie.
I loved Witness with Harrison Ford set in Amish country.  Alot of suspense.

I will defnitely let you know what I think of the film!!  I've been very impressed by Clint Eastwood's direction.. I hope this follows suit!!

I too love Will Smith.. he's from around these here parts ;)

Actually.. since you mention Witness and Harrison Ford. I live between where Will Smith grew up and Lancaster County.. Amish Country PA... LOL

The movie 7 pounds... was it a real tear jerker?  I have to be careful of my tears  Babs-

Yes, Lancaster County PA, Amish country is pretty.  My cousin also lived there for awhile.
I also really like a Danish film called Babette's Feast.  Haven't seen it for awhile but great film.My New Year's Eve was like Babette's Feast, only people talked.Really liked that movie.

Anybody see this when it was out?

Also, LOVED Women on the Edge of A Nervous Breakdown.
The last movie I saw at the theater was Talladega Nights. Lol It's been awhile.
I usually wait until they come out on dvd.
I do miss the popcorn at the theater.
If you want to rent a dvd that will make you really laugh, get GHOST TOWN with Greg Kinnear, it is really cute.  Seven Pounds is not a tear jerker.
My New Year's Eve was like Babette's Feast, only people talked.
dont' take this wrong....

but in what way was Babette's Feast like your holiday??  I can't imagine.. seriously.

That is one movie I do want to see some time.
Babs, I went to a dinner where there was a really long table, and one gourmet cook just kept bringing out one amazing dish after another (but people talked). I don't think that is so mysterious.theres's just so many possibilities.. that's all.. it could have been  dinner with revelations ... could have been an odd assortment of peoples?  ... I just wasnt' really sure..
sounds cool though.
It was.....I mean, the food was incredible! I knew most of the people but there were new faces so I got to make some new friends, as well.

New Year's day we always have an open house which turned into another big party and the chef came and brought a bunch of leftover steaks so we ended up having a midnight lunch of filet mignon New Year's day as well.

Mmmmm.....food. I don't usually eat so much meat but it was good.I got movie passes as a Christmas present.  I want to go see Marley and me and Four Christmases.  I did watch The Bucket List on cable the other night.  I liked it.Expelled looks good- how did I miss that being advertised?

Four Christmases was a funy movie, and Marley and Me was good too.  If you want another good laugh rent Pineapple Express.  I didn't think it would be very good until I watched it last night and laughed my butt off at it.   I think I'm going to see Hotel for Dogs this weekend.

Pineapple Express, LOL.........
Maybe I'm a wimp, but I did cry at 7 lbs...........

I know I wrote movies, but last night I watched 2 1/2 men, one of the best episodes
i've ever seen.  It's nice to be able to forget about RA and crack up.........
I just rewatched "The Lives of Others" last night. That is such an amazing movie---I highly recommend it, (especially after the last 8 years). It's very visually beautiful, too.Any Audrey Hepburn movie!!!!I wanted to go see Yes man but the wife doesn't like Jim Carrey that much.   I bought My Best Friends Girl on dvd yesterday.  Dane Cook is my boy!  It's a very funny movie, definitely worth picking up.  Has anyone seen Apaloosa?

Bob
I just saw Mama Mia!  Wonderful and fun.  Unless I can get the 2 seats that are at the back of the theater I don't like going, the theater has stadium seating and they have 2 seats at the back that are fantastic!!! They are built for folks like us who nned to be able to sit comfortably while watching movies. We got a pile of movies for Christmas to watch I saw Dark Knight last week. I though the movie was real good. There was one thing about the movie though, when Heath Ledger was wearing the nurse's uniform, I thought he had better leg than most women I knew!!! My daughter got Hellboy II we watched that and I thought it was pretty funny. I do want to watch The Women, I love Annette Benning. I just ordered for my husband's birhtday Apaloosa, he loves westerns and Vigo Mortenson is not hard on the eyes either. LOLOLOLOLheheheheehee

Debrakay,
You and I have the same goals.  2008 was spent mostly as an inpatient before that only one time inpatient in 2005 for the blood clot.  So I decided if I am to spend so much down time in the hospital, when I finally get to go home, i will do as many things for myself as I can possibly do.
Ii am not a big movie fan.  I watch them when they come on television without the soft **.  However, I have decided I will go see 7 lbs in the theatres. I can't assume I will have time to wait for it to come on television and I am interested in seeing this movie.  I haven't heard of milk, however.  Who is in that one?

And yes, getting down in the seats is like seating on the floor, very difficult with arthritic hips, knees, and in everything that requires bending, stooping, etc.
Can't tolerate vicodin but will take some tylenol before going.
