Book: Healing Power of Garlic, Vinegar & Olive Oil | Arthritis Information

Recently saw this book by nutritionist Gayle Alleman. She discusses how garlic can help protect against heart attacks, strokes and even cancer.  Explains how vinegar can help diabetics control their blood sugar.  Shows how the fat in olive oil can lower "bad" cholesterol - and much more.  Includes recipes.

I'm particularly interested in olive oil.
Forgot, available ata www.starcrest.com I eat olive oil every day, as it's the main fat used in our house.

BF's Dr tells him to eat raw garlic for everything. She's a regular GP, too, not a naturopath or anything.Ah Garlic, love cooking with it in just about everything. I use olive oil, extra virgin, and loads of garlic too.  Do be careful though, as too much olive oil can be detrimental in so far as calories go, as with any fat.  Good for you, but not too much.
Dr. Oz says eating bread and olive oil prior to a meal can reduce your appetite!
I'm becoming interested in vinegar since I just read something about using 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar for a foot soak to get rid of bacteria on feet.  Somebody around here has stinky feet!  And I'm tired of washing her shoes all the time because she can't take them off in school.  I'm doing this tomorrow sometime because I enticed her with a 'pamper day' and promised to paint her toenails when we were all done.  I'll let you know if it helps!

Pip, let me guess...she has reached the 'socks are uncool' stage?  Socks are a must.  They are the cure for stinky feet.  You might have to toss any shoes that have been 'infected', though.  All my older daughter's classmates were mysteriously stricken with horrid stinky feet at the same time, but things improved once we moms joined together to get them all into 'no-show' socks.

She was sock free before without a problem - I think it started when we switched from Minnetonka's (leather) to cheap Payless ones.  And I wash with bleach - if it doesn't survive bleach, it doesn't stay in our house.  LOL

It might also have something to do with getting a little older, but socks will fix it, trust me.

I read this issue came up in Sharon Stone's divorce!  Ex said she wanted to get their son botox for stinky feet, while he just wanted the kid to start wearing socks LOL.
Botox will fix stinky feet?  How in the world did they figure that out.  "Gee, Doc, thanks about the wrinkles and amazingly my stinky feet cleared up too"!!! I've heard they use it for sweaty palms.  Paralyze the sweat glands or something.  So maybe sweaty feet equals stinky feet to Sharon.  But what I read said the dad won, the socks worked, happy ending on at least that point of contention.
Suzanne, if you go to the dessert and wear sandals you can get a foot condition from the alkaline sand that a vinegar soak fixes right up. I don't know about "no sock" foot, but it's just vinegar so I don't think it can hurt to try.

I also use a lot of garlic in cooking, and we cook the vast majority of our food at home because we're so health and diet conscious. I don't think we're smelly, though.
